[Top 10] Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel Best Secret Packs

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Best Secret Packs
The Labrynths have just gotten a major power boost in Master Duel! Find out what Secret Packs you should to get to beat them in battle!

Are you ready for your Yu-Gi-Oh! decks to reach their fullest potential? In Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, whenever you craft or receive a very rare card that’s part of a Secret Pack, you’ll unlock that pack in the Shop for 24 hours! With so little time to dip into these packs, and only so many UR and SR crystals available for crafting, it’s important to have a plan when it comes to buying new cards. Here are the 10 best Secret Packs that are sure to strengthen your current decks!

Both UR and SR cards that you craft can unlock a Secret Pack, but because UR crystals are so hard to come by, it’s better to make an SR card first. Once your chosen packs are unlocked, you can buy one pack for 100 gems, or ten for 1000. Half of the eight cards in each pack will be specific to its featured archetypes, and the other half will be random cards from the Master Pack card pool.

If, by chance, you receive a card that is also part of another Secret Pack, you’ll unlock that pack too–no crafting necessary! Oh, and if you’re unlucky enough to get no UR cards from a 10-pull, don’t fret. On your next pull you’re guaranteed to receive at least 1 UR card.

Some of the Secret Packs that follow contain entire archetypes that you can build from scratch. Others carry powerful staple cards that you’ll want to fit into many different deck types. Either way, if you can combine the cards you get in Secret Packs with exclusive cards from the newest Selection Packs, you’re sure to become a truly formidable duelist!

10. Seekers of Witchcraft

The great mages Aleister, Verre, and Endymion were once comrades before going their own separate ways.

A nice choice for beginners, Seekers of Witchcraft has everything for people looking to strengthen their Spellcaster decks. The main archetype included in this Secret Pack are the Witchcrafters, magic users who use their skills to make a living as a crafting guild. These witches are great at retrieving Spell cards from the deck and Graveyard, and adding them back to the hand.

If you have Witchcrafter Madame Verre on the field, your opponent will have a tough time going through your impenetrable defense. By discarding a Spell card, Verre negates the effects of all face-up monsters on your opponent’s field, on either turn. And not only that, but she can reveal any number of Spell cards in your hand, and her stats will increase by that number x 1000!

Another, and possibly more important, series of cards in this pack are the cards related to Aleister the Invoker. This rogue magic researcher uses forbidden Invocation spells to fuse himself with occult beings. Aleister is a great choice to include in many different decks, because on summon he’ll search for Invocation, and then, after fusing, Invocation will shuffle itself into the deck to add him back to the hand.

Finally, Seekers of Witchcraft also contains the younger forms of Verre and Aleister: Rilliona the Magistus of Verre and Crowley the Magistus of Grimoires, respectively. The Magistus are an archetype of Spellcasters that can equip themselves to each other for additional effects. Artemis the Magistus Moon Maiden is the main staple of this archetype–this Link-1 monster can be included in any Spellcaster deck to enable Link Climbing strategies.

Seekers of Witchcraft is Great at:

  • Building control-oriented Spellcaster decks. Madame Verre can create an almost insurmountable wall on your field, while many of Aleister’s fusions limit your opponent’s options. Invoked Caliga, for example, limits both players to only 1 monster attack and monster effect per turn, while Invoked Mechaba, on both players' turns and more than once per turn, lets you discard a card to negate a card of that same type on the field!
  • Offering a speedy engine for Fusion-based strategies. Since Aleister searches Invocation from the deck, and Invocation lets you recycle Aleister to the hand, you’ll always have a way to bring out Fusion monsters to the field. You don’t even have to use Allister; if all the Fusion materials you need for a Fusion are in your hand, you can use Invocation just by itself!
  • Providing Link plays for Spellcasters. With Artemis, for example, through her Link Summon you can immediately move any Spellcaster you want to the Graveyard, and you gain the possibility of summoning a more powerful Link monster, like the Link-3 Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians.

9. Those Who Stand Against Kings

With Zoodiacs, Crystrons, and Heavymetalfoes all in one place, your deck can reach for the stars!

Back when Crystron Halqifibrax was still legal, this was the pack to buy. Halqi single-handedly propelled many Synchro decks to victory with its ability to either Special Summon a Tuner monster from the deck or to trade itself on the opponent’s turn for a Synchro Tuner monster from the Extra Deck. With this card being banned, it won’t appear in this pack anymore, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t more than enough reasons to pull from here.

The rest of the Crystrons aren’t as memorable as Halqifibrax, but the Zoodiac archetype is a different story. These EARTH Beast-Warriors’ ability to go into Xyz Monsters with just one card on the field made them a Tier 0 deck when they were at full power. The main deck Zoodiacs could easily swarm the field, Xyz Summon a combo extender, and then begin a chain of ranking-up until you had a Zoodiac Drident with many materials who could Quick Effect destroy a monster on any player’s turn.

And then we have Heavymetalfoes Electrumite, the strongest support card for any Pendulum deck. On summon it searches a Pendulum monster from your deck, and, once per turn, you can destroy one of your cards to recover another Pendulum monster from the Extra Deck. And it even draws a card when a card in the Pendulum Zone leaves the field meaning just one monster can give you so much card advantage.

Those Who Fight Against Kings is Great for:

  • Extending plays for Pendulum decks. The whole Heavymetalfoes archetype is good enough on its own, but Electrumite is spectacular for gaining card advantage. Its recovery and draw effects synergize very well with Pendulum monsters that like to destroy themselves on the field for their effects.
  • Radically elevating the potential of Xyz-based strategies. Many archetypes, especially Beast-supportive types like Tri-Brigades, can benefit from including this quick Xyz engine. Zoodiac Drident gains the Attack points of all the monsters attached to it, and if you used a long Rank-Up chain to summon her, then you’ll have access to a very strong Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder!
  • Giving hope to many Synchro players. Crystron Halqifibrax was actually a part of this Secret Pack, even while it was banned in the TCG. So there could still be hope for it leaving the ban list, and if it does, archetypes like P.U.N.K. will be able to make full use of this card.

8. Miraculous Advent

Play a Herald strategy, or open with the right Ritual support, and you'll have your opponent praying for mercy!

Ritual Monsters represent early Yu-Gi-Oh! so well; they were spooky, supernatural, and needed a ceremonial sacrifice before you could use their power. Unfortunately, they were too much of a nuisance to play back then.

In those times, Ritual Summoning required you to have, at the same time, a Ritual Monster, its own Ritual Spell, and enough monsters in your hand or field to use as materials. Modern-day decks have plenty of options for Ritual support though, and most of the cards here can be used with any Ritual deck!

The meat of this pack is the Impcantation archetype, a group of monsters completely dedicated to searching out your Ritual monsters and traps. And then you have support spells like Preparation of Rites, which both searches out a Ritual Monster from the deck, and its corresponding Ritual Spell from the Graveyard. And there’s also Advanced Ritual Arts, which lets you send Normal Monsters from your deck to the Graveyard to Ritual Summon a monster instead of following the normal way to do so.

And finally, there are the Heralds, a Ritual-based archetype whose boss monsters come with omni-negate effects. The main deck Diviner of the Herald is a great searcher or miller for your Fairy monsters, while the Synchro monster Herald of the Arc Light can Tribute itself for a negate, allowing you to search another Ritual monster or spell to regain advantage after it leaves the field.

Herald of Perfection and Herald of Ultimateness, on the other hand, both have the effect of sending a Fairy monster from the hand to the Graveyard to negate any one of your opponent’s card effects. Ultimate can even do this to stop a monster summon, like a better version of the Solemn cards!

Miraculous Advent is great for:

  • Providing generic support for Ritual Monsters. Even if you want to play more nostalgic strategies, such as using Magician of Black Chaos MAX or Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, your odds of success will be greatly improved with cards like Pre-Preparation of Rites or Manju of the Ten-Thousand Hands.
  • Strengthening other meta decks. In the past this pack had everything Drytrons needed to become the #1 deck in Master Duel. But even now that they’ve fallen to the wayside, Diviner of the Herald still plays a valuable role in Tearlament strategies by turboing out the Ishizu monsters and Synchro Summoning Baronne de Fleur.
  • If you want to play stronger versions of the “End of the World” Ritual Monsters. Demise, King of Armageddon, and Ruin, Queen of Oblivion were very notable Ritual Monsters that had nerfed forms of the effects of the Forbidden cards Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End and Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning. Now Demise, Supreme King of Armageddon and Ruin, Supreme Queen of Oblivion have destruction protection and burn damage effects in addition to their field nuke and double-attack ones.

7. Star-Studded Futures

This pack is basically Xenoblade: the Yu-Gi-Oh! Archetypes. Still, one of the best stories told through Yu-Gi-Oh! cards!

The World Legacy and its related archetypes form some of the most exciting lore in modern Yu-Gi-Oh! Auram, Girsu, and Ib were three close friends from the Village of the Stars, but when Lee the World Chalice Fairy chooses them to find the other world’s ancient treasures, their lives are turned upside down. Ib discovers she has a World Legacy inside of her, Girsu creates the Orcust in a mad quest to resurrect a loved one, and Auram follows in the footsteps of the Mekk-Knights and the Crusadia to rebuild a broken world.

The Crusadia cards use the power of Links to protect one another and boost each other’s strength. Crusadia Equimax is a fine staple to get out of this pack, as he can gain enough power to deal with any threat, along with negating one monster’s effects on the field.

But an even better card to have is Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax; he can’t be targeted, can’t be destroyed by card effects, and he stops your opponent from attacking your other monsters. It gets even better: if Avramax battles a Special Summoned monster, he’ll gain that monster’s Attack Points right before damage calculation! And if, even with all this, your opponent somehow manages to remove him from the field, then you can shuffle one of your opponent’s cards back into their deck.

The Orcust cards have occasionally been competitive in the past, but nowadays the Girsu cards themselves are what are still worth grabbing. Girsu the Orcust Mekk-Knight can be treated as a Tuner and can summon a Token to both fields, making it easy for you to Synchro Summon. Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star is an easily summonable and protected Xyz Monster who can send an opponent’s card to the Graveyard once per turn.

Star-Studded Futures is Great For…

  • Gaining many Extra Deck staples. Crusadia Equimax, by gaining the Attack Points of its linked monsters, enables quick OTKs, and Dingirsu can easily send any monster on the field to the Graveyard. And having battle protection means he has a reliable way of ranking up into Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS.
  • Providing extra support for Dragon decks. The various Guardragon cards all have easy Special Summoning effects, and Link-2 Guardragon Pisty in particular is an essential extender for the Dragon Link combo.
  • Obtaining what may be one of the best defenses in Yu-Gi-Oh! Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax is almost impossible to get rid of, especially if he was Link Summoned using I:P Masquerena. Unless your opponent can Normal Summon a monster with more than 3000 Attack Points, or use a Kaiju, the game will be over for them.

6. Space-Time Transcendents

Activate Redoer's time travel effect, and surely you'll see this as an absolute win!

The epitome of cyberpunk meets Doctor Who, Space-Time Trascendents is a sci-fi themed Secret Pack containing three interrelated Psychic archetypes. There is the S-Force, a security team that travels through time and dimensions chasing down the city’s criminals. Among their greatest rivals are the Time Thieves, an Xyz-focused deck; PSY-Frame Driver, a lone wolf who uses various armor pieces for Synchro Summoning; and the elusive Link Monster I:P Masquerena.

The S-Force themselves are not a particularly notable archetype in actual gameplay, but for the Time Thieves it’s a whole other story. They’ll steal your opponent’s cards as a way to activate their effects, and this is especially true for Time Thief Redoer.

This Xyz Monster attaches a card to itself from the top of the opponent’s deck during each Standby Phase, and can activate a different time travel effect depending on what card it detaches. If it detaches a monster, it will travel to the future, banishing itself until the turn’s End Phase. If it’s a spell, you draw an extra card, stealing an item from the future; and if it’s a trap, you can send an opponent’s card back to the past, placing it on top of the deck.

PSY-Frame Driver uses the various amplifier PSY-Framegear handtraps to disrupt his opponent’s plays and eventually Synchro Summons into the mighty PSY-Framelord Omega. The best gear piece is PSY-Framegear Gamma, which can negate an opponent’s monster effect while Special Summoning two monsters at the same time. Omega, on the other hand, has a banishing, a Graveyard sending, and a shuffle into the deck effect, all different disruption options you can choose from depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the deck you’re facing.

I:P Masquerena is a very mysterious thief, and she’s never around for long. This Link-2 monster has a Quick Effect where, on your opponent’s turn, you can use her to Link Summon another monster. This effect sounds simple, but it’s a way to dodge your opponent’s cards, and it also grants your new Link Monster immunity from being destroyed by their card effects!

Space-Time Transcendents is Great for…

  • Getting a versatile wild card in Time Thief Redoer. He constantly steals your opponent’s resources, and, no matter which type of card it is, it’ll always give you very good effects. It’s a generic Rank 4 monster, too, making it one of the easiest Xyz Monsters to summon.
  • Setting up the perfect counter for handtraps. PSY-Framegear Gamma is a highly sought-after card, as its effect means it can counter cards like Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring or even Maxx “C” while bringing extra monsters out in the process. The fact that you can then easily go into Zeta or Baronne De Fleur only makes things better.
  • Providing one of the most important Link staples in I:P Masquerena. The Quick Effect Link Summon and protection are great for disrupting your opponent’s moves. Especially if you bring out monsters that are already hard to beat, like Underworld Goddess of the Closed World, who can use an opponent’s monster as Link Material and immediately shuts down all their monster effects.

5. Singular Strike Overthrow

"Get in the robot, Raye!" Sky Strikers rely on having one pilot on the field, who switches into different mechas in order to use their supercharged Spells.

This is the pack to fulfill all your mecha needs and dreams! Singular Strike Overthrow contains two powerful Cyberse archetypes, the Sky Strikers and the Mathmechs, that have seen competitive play in the past and still receive new support that keeps them in the metagame.

The Sky Striker cards involve two soldiers who use special armored suits to continuously gain resources over the course of battle. Mathmechs, meanwhile, are robots who use the mathematical operations to affect the Attack and Defense Points of monsters on the field to always gain an advantage on your opponent.

With the Sky Strikers, you’ll want to immediately link away your Main Deck girls, Sky Striker Ace - Raye and Sky Striker Ace - Roze, into one of their many combat forms. This is because their Spell Cards require you to have no monsters in the Main Monster Zones in order to use them, and you want to use as many as possible so you can use their extra effects in the Graveyard.

With cards like Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage!, which is basically a Pot of Greed under the right circumstances, you can keep your combo going and overwhelm your opponent with your onslaught of Spells!

The Mathmechs have their own swarming strategy, but with monsters instead of spells. Each of their Main Deck Level 4 monsters has effects that allow you to Special Summon a Mathmech monster, and they’ll each grant Attack boosts, an extra attack, or other bonus effects to one monster on your field.

If you apply all these effects to Geomathmech Final Sigma, a 3000 Attack Point Synchro Monster who deals double Battle Damage, you’ll have a formidable One Turn Kill strategy!

Singular Strike Overflow is Great for:

  • Playing a control-oriented, Spell-based strategy. With Sky Strikers, your gameplan will be to steadily outresource your opponent, constantly getting more cards and having more access to disruption and removal effects. Sky Striker Mecha - Widow Anchor, for example, can negate an enemy monster’s effects, then, if there are at least 3 Sky Striker spells in the grave, you can even steal that monster for yourself!
  • Making big-brained, intricate calculations in your games. The Mathmechs are, true to its name, an archetype that can harness the power of math for swift OTKs against your opponent. You’ll always be asking yourself if you have enough boosting effects at hand to deal lethal damage on Turns 2 and 3.
  • Investing in multiple decks for the long run. Both Sky Strikers and Mathmechs are receiving much support in the TCG and OCG, with Mathmechs even reaching pretty close to Tier 1 status. And since this Secret Pack has received new Sky Striker cards in the past, we know it’ll continue to be updated as the new support reaches Master Duel.

4. Cosmic Mechanical Entities

Knightmare Corruptor Iblee and Knightmare Unicorn together will erase your opponent's dreams of playing their best cards!

In this second chapter to the World Legacy lore, we meet the Mekk-Knights, cybernetic warriors in a post-apocalyptic world tasked with protecting these ancient artifacts. To help them in their mission, they command the Krawlers, mechanical insects that operate with a hive mind. But the evil fairy Lee, after possessing Ib's body, overpowered the Mekk-Knights and converted them into her own personal army: the Knightmares.

The Mekk-Knights all have a pretty unique mechanic: they can be Special Summoned to any column on the field where there are at least two cards. They also have additional effects related to columns, such as destroying a card in that same column or being able to move to a neighboring column.

But the toughest monsters here are without a doubt the Knightmare cards. These Link Monsters are staples in almost every deck, being very accessible forms of removal whenever you’re in a pinch. Link-2 Knightmare Cerberus will discard a card to destroy an opponent's Special Summoned monster, while Link-2 Knightmare Phoenix discards a card to destroy their Spell or Trap card.

The Link-3 Knightmare Unicorn, on the other hand, will, after your discard, shuffle any opponent’s card back into their deck. This is the strongest form of removal there is, since that card can’t be easily recovered. And Unicorn will also let you draw another card at the end too!

Finally, Knightmare Corruptor Iblee, the leader of the archetype, can be an annoying lockdown tool to use on your opponent. While on the field, it prevents its controller from any form of Special Summoning, except for Link Summons. But when sent to the grave, it automatically Special Summons itself to the opponent’s field, so if they have no Link-1 monsters in the Extra Deck or you can prevent them from Link Summoning, they’ll be stopped dead in their tracks!

Cosmic Mechanical Entities is Great for:

  • Providing staple forms of removal for any deck. The SR Link-2 Knightmare Cerberus discards a card to destroy 1 opponent’s monster, while the SR Link-2 Knightmare Phoenix discards 1 to destroy one of their Spells or Traps. If you get the UR Knightmare Unicorn, though, you can shuffle any one of their cards back into the deck instead, and even get a free draw!
  • Supporting lockdown or control strategies. Knightmare prevents its controller from any form of Special Summoning, except for Link Summons. If your opponent has no Link-1s, or you also manage to lock them out of Link Summoning, you can stop them dead in their tracks!
  • Trying out alternative gameplay styles. Mekk-Knights turn the Field’s columns into game hazards, while Krawlers revitalize Flip Effects for use in the modern era. Knightmares make it viable to use an Extra Link strategy, where you summon enough Link monsters to occupy both Link Monster zones, leaving your opponent with no way to Link Summon!

3. Shot Through Fiction

Borreload Furious Dragon will unleash its rage on both sides of the field, then revive one of your Link Borrel Dragons to deal the finishing blow!

With Dragon Link ascending to the top of the metagame once again, Shot Through Fiction is an excellent Secret Pack to dive into. The Rokket monsters in this archetype will destroy themselves in order to bring out more of themselves from the deck, and will sometimes give you additional effects in the process. This makes them an excellent engine for Link Summoning combos, and can quickly lead to you summoning one of the imposing Borrel dragons to beat your opponent into submission.

Both SR Spell cards in this pack are important pieces for securing card advantage. Quick Launch, a Quick-Play Spell, will Emergency Teleport a Rokket from the deck to your field, but destroys it at the end of your turn–making its Graveyard effect activate. The Field Spell Boot Sector Launch, on the other hand, will often let you Special Summon two or more Rokket dragons every turn, and it can even be searched by the extender Link-1 Striker Dragon.

This Secret Pack also offers DARK Dragon support in the form of Noctovision Dragon and Rokket Synchron, offering pathways to mix Rokkets with other strong Dragon archetypes. Many people decide to include Thunder Dragons, Chaos Dragons, or even Blue-Eyes Chaos Max Dragon into their Dragon Link Decks.

Even this pack’s boss monsters, the Borrel dragons, are prepared for every occasion. If you prefer pure Link Summoning, then use the original Borreload Dragon, who can steal monsters, or Borrelsword Dragon, who attacks twice and will always have higher Attack Points than your opponent’s beatsticks.

Prefer to Fusion Summon? Then go for Borreload Furious Dragon, who can destroy one card on both players’ fields, and can even revive a Link Monster when in the grave.

Like Synchro Summoning? Then choose Borreload Savage Dragon, who has the potential to use multiple omni-negates in a single turn!

Shot Through Fiction is Great for:

  • A swarming strategy that multiplies your Rokkets. Rokket Tracer, an excellent starter, can instantly replace itself with another Rokket monster, and Absorouter Dragon gives you a means to search it out. Most other Rokkets have Graveyard effects in the End Phase that Special Summon other Rokkets from the Deck.
  • Supporting other Dragon decks. If you craft Link-1 Guardragon Pisty or the Link-2 Hieratic Sphere of the Heavenly Spheres, you’ll have two easy ways of Special Summoning dragons of different archetypes from your deck. Rokkets will easily give you the needed materials to Link Summon, and this pack’s Triple Burst Dragon or Booster Dragon can recycle those combo pieces for you every turn.
  • Supporting most Extra Deck summoning strategies. Rapid Trigger can Fusion Summon while activating your Rokkets’ Graveyard effects, while both Rokket Tracer and Rokket Synchron are Tuners. There is even a Borrel Xyz Monster, Borreload eXcharge Dragon!

Shot Through Fiction Price: 1000 Gems for 10 Packs

2. Echo Chamber Nation

Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous, is the chosen protector of the Dogmatika nation. But what's that she spots in the sky?

A great choice for new players, Echo Chamber Nation combines cards from two strong engines, the Dogmatika and the Tri-Brigade, both of which can provide a lot of utility in many other deck types. It also includes the Spriggans archetype, FIRE Machine monsters who can attach themselves to Xyz Monsters and boost their effects.

The Dogmatika are a church-led nation opposed to all forms of heresy, and because of that, these LIGHT Spellcasters are centered around defeating Extra Deck-based strategies. There are many monsters, such as Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous, who can Special Summon themselves if a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Link, or sometimes Pendulum Summoned monster is on the field–and they can’t be destroyed in battle by these monsters either.

Then you have the more powerful members of the Dogmatika Nation, like Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted, who can Special Summon herself this way on the opponent’s turn and then negate any one monster’s effects.

There’s also the Dogmatika leader himself, Dogmatika Maximus, who forces both players to send 2 monsters from their Extra Deck to their Graveyard. Played smartly, you can starve your opponent of the monsters they need the most to win!

The Tri-Brigade are an alliance of exiled soldiers from three warring tribes: one made up of Beasts, one of Beast-Warriors, and one of Winged-Beasts. Working together, they provide support to all three of these monster types (the “tri-types”), and can banish any number of these monsters from the Graveyard in order to summon Link tri-type monsters (with that number as their Link Rating) from the Extra Deck. So, for example, you can banish 2 to summon Tri-Brigade Ferrijit the Barren Blossom, who allows you to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower tri-type from your hand.

Or you can banish 4 to get Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen, who can banish a monster on the field immediately when he’s summoned!

Echo Chamber Nation is Great for:

  • Building an anti-Extra Deck strategy. All the main Dogmatika cards are here, and you can use them purely or with other archetypes to lock your opponent out of their most powerful monsters! Just remember that this archetype prevents you from Special Summoning from the Extra Deck on the turn you use their effects.
  • Strengthening any Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged-Beast deck. From Harpies to Crystal Beasts and Lyrilusc, plenty of tri-type archetypes love the Tri-Brigades because of how quickly they can load the Graveyard and enable Extra Deck summoning. A particularly competitive choice is to use this archetype with Zoodiacs; you’ll bring out a staggeringly high-attack Zoodiac Drident with the ability to destroy cards on both players’ turns!
  • Gathering cards for an Extra Deck mill strategy. Nadir Servant and Dogmatika Punishment both send Extra Deck monsters to the Graveyard in order to use their effects. These are great to use with cards like Elder Entity N’Tss, who destroys one card on the field if sent to the grave, or Herald of the Arc Light, which will search out a Ritual monster or spell card.

Echo Chamber Nation Price: 1000 Gems for 10 Packs

1. Alba Abyss

It's the Fallen of Albaz! With his transformations, this boy without memories has the potential to annihilate the entire battlefield by himself!

What sets this Secret Pack apart from all the others on this list is that it’s one of the newest ones in Master Duel! That’s right, while almost all of this game’s Secret Packs have been present since its launch in January 2022, Alba Abyss was only added in November of that same year.

As such, you can expect the contents of this Secret Pack to be pretty powerful, since it houses meta-contending cards present in three previous Selection Packs.

The standout archetype from this deck is Branded, a series of Dragon Fusion monsters and support cards all centered around a single Main Deck monster: the Fallen of Albaz. This mysterious boy, who holds no memories about his past, can absorb power from his surroundings to transform into mighty dragons.

You can do this through Albaz’s own effect, which fuses himself with your enemy’s monsters; or through the impressive Spell card Branded Fusion, which can use monsters from the hand, field, or even the Deck as Fusion materials.

In the Albaz lore, this boy was being hunted by the Dogmatika Nation and had to seek refuge with the Tri-Brigades. Because of that, this pack also contains support cards from those archetypes. Chief among them is Nadir Servant, which mills an Extra Deck card to your grave to search out a Fallen of Albaz or Dogmatika card; and Tri-Brigade Mercourier, a handtrap that can negate enemy effects when paired with an Albaz dragon.

Alba Abyss is Great for:

  • Providing a quick and splashable engine for Fusion-based strategies. Fallen of Albaz and Branded Fusion provide some of the quickest ways of reaching your Fusion boss monsters while building up card advantage. Decks from Dark Magician and Buster Blader all the way to Tearlaments have been able to make great use of these cards!
  • Crafting a deck focused around powerful Dragon fusions. When playing Branded, you’ll first want to bring out Albion the Branded Dragon, who can immediately Fusion Summon a second monster by banishing materials from the grave. With this effect you’ll mostly be summoning Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon, who can banish a monster as a Quick Effect, and will even destroy all monsters at the end of the turn if it leaves the field.
  • Picking up staple Dogmatika cards. It’s true that Echo Chamber Nation will be your go-to pack if you want to build this archetype, but if you prefer to play Branded, you’ll at least get some versatile cards that can be used in many other decks. Go for Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous, a combo starter who can’t be destroyed by Extra Deck monsters in battle; and for Nadir Servant, which grants you access to powerful Graveyard effects of cards like Elder Entity N’Tss and Titaniklad the Ash Dragon.
