[Top 10] Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel Best Packs

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Best Packs
Your deck will be PACKING once you upgrade it with these Master Duel packs!

It’s time to upgrade your deck! Maybe you’re a new player who's just getting used to the Structure Decks offered by Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel’s Solo Mode and the Shop. Or maybe you’re a veteran looking to add some spice to your personal archetypes. Whatever your situation, as you gather enough gems you’ll be able to buy some of Konami’s many packs to add newer, stronger cards to your collection. Here are the 10 best packs for you to use in your Master Duel deckbuilding!

Most of these are Secret Packs that you can unlock by crafting a UR or SR rarity card in the deck builder. When you craft a card from one of these Secret Packs, you’ll suddenly see it in the Shop, where it’ll be available for 24 hours for you to buy as many packs as you need. If it’s your first time accessing that Secret Pack, the first pack will be free!

You also have the option of buying from Master Duel’s Selection Packs, limited-time packs that stay in the shop for 90 days before being replaced by new ones. These packs often feature cards from three or more archetypes, and will have meta-defining cards much of the time. So if you see something you like, make sure to get it from the Selection Pack before it’s gone!

Fianlly, Master Duel offers its own Master Packs, which contain almost every card in the game. The card pool is impressive, but the fact that you can’t guarantee that you’re getting cards from your archetype makes it a bad idea to buy these packs directly. Instead, you can buy special bundles at a discount that give you a UR-rarity as a bonus, or buy Legacy Packs with tickets that you get for free while playing the game.

On average, you can gain around 10,000 gems per month in Master Duel if you’re a veteran player; even more than that, if you’re a newbie. That’s about how many gems it can take to build a meta or rogue-level deck from scratch. So as you’re reading this guide, choose your next packs carefully!

10. Legacy Pack

The legendary engine of destruction that started it all!

Maybe this is the first time you’re getting into Yu-Gi-Oh! Or you used to play as a kid, but aren’t caught up with newer mechanics or competitive strategies. Or maybe you’re just feeling nostalgic for one of the anime series and want to roleplay as your favorite character.

Well, look no further; this is the pack for you!

Legacy packs contain signature cards from characters throughout all of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, along with cards that have made a huge impact on the game IRL. Unlike the other packs on this list, you don’t need to use gems at all in order to buy these ones. Instead, they can be bought using legacy tickets, which you’ll get as rewards from duels, leveling up, and solo mode.

If you’re lucky, you can pick up some copies of the legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon to put into your deck! Or support your Dark Magician with cards like Dark Magic Veil or Sorcerer of Dark Magic. You can even get some cards that have use in competitive decks, such as Cyberstein, Mystical Space Typhoon, or Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Legacy Packs are Great for:

  • Filling up your card pool. Gems eventually become scarce as you progress through the game, so you have to think carefully about how to spend them. Legacy Pack tickets, however, are given out in spades, so you’ll always have a convenient way to build up your collection.
  • Collecting your favorite anime cards. Whether it be Jinzo, Gate Guardian, the Elemental HEROs, Junk Warrior, or Kite’s Photon monsters, you’ll find loads of them in here.
  • Speeding up the process of crafting cards. While it is true that cards from Legacy Packs can’t be dismantled, there’s a good chance you’ll rack up extra copies of cards you got from other sources. In these cases you can dismantle the other cards without fear, knowing you already have one or more permanent copies of said cards in your collection.

Legacy Pack Price: 100 Legacy Pack Tickets for 100 Legacy Packs

9. Bundle Deals

Who would win: a sweaty five-minute combo, or one ghosty girl?

As you gain more experience in playing Yu-Gi-Oh!, you may notice some cards are played in nearly every deck, often at multiple copies. With time, you might see these cards disappear from play, then come back in full force as the metagame changes. These cards are called staples, and many of the most competitive staples are found in the Bundle Deals at the Special section of the Shop.

You can buy each Bundle Deal once, and it comes with a featured card along with 10 Master Packs. The Master Packs can pull from almost every card in the game, even from expired Selection Packs–but the card pool is so large that the odds of getting a card you want from them are pitifully low. Instead, the big draw is the staple and the value you get out of buying the bundle: just 750 gems for 10 packs and a UR card!

Your first priority should probably be to get the Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring bundle. Ash is the handtrap of the game, stopping your opponent from getting extra cards out of their deck, even before your first turn! Most competitive decks will have 3 Ashes, and by buying the bundle, you’ll only need to craft two of them.

Other good candidates are Nibiru, the Primal Being, who can wipe your opponent’s entire board if they have a combo-heavy deck; Infinite Impermanence, a handtrap that can negate a monster’s effects; and Solemn Judgment, who just says NO to any one of your opponent’s actions.

Bundle Deals are Great for:

  • Building your arsenal of handtraps and board breakers. These cards are what elevate good decks to competitive decks, and you’ll need many of them to stand a fighting chance in the higher ranks.
  • Increasing your card pool in a low-cost way. At 750 gems, you’ll be getting more cards than if you were buying Master Packs directly, or any other pack for that matter. So you’ll be getting extra value, especially when you remember that you’re guaranteed a competitive UR card too!
  • Giving you a clear option to use your gems on. With over 10,000 cards in Master Duel, it can be overwhelming to decide which Selection or Secret Packs to pull from, or if you should buy a Structure Deck. These packs, however, will always be a sound investment, as long as you don’t already have 3 copies of their featured card.

Bundle Deal price: 750 gems for 1 Bundle (10 Master Packs and 1 UR card)

8. Dreaded Conspiracy

This pack gives a whole new meaning to "Boss Monsters", as shown by Laevatein, Generaider Boss of Shadows.

The newest selection pack on Master Duel offers a wide assortment of rogue-level archetypes to build decks around, all with their most modern support. The stars of this pack are the Generaiders, Level/Rank 9 monsters who act like video game bosses and use tokens to activate their effects. Then you also have Dark World monsters, who activate effects when discarded; Magikeys, an archetype centered around a mystical key that supports Normal Monsters and manipulates monster Attributes; Insect support that even includes a cousin of Maxx “C”; and, finally, two Trap-based control archetypes in the form of the Traptrix and Labrynth cards.

The Dark World cards are unique in that, when discarded by a card effect, they can search out extra cards for you or disrupt your opponent’s plays. Some of their modern support even forcefully changes the effects of the opponent cards to make you discard a card instead. This is the case for Grapha, Dragon Overlord of Dark World, a DARK Fusion monster that is also excellent support for Tearlaments, the dominant deck in Master Duel.

Generaiders use Main Deck monsters and the Field Spell Generaider Boss Stage to rapidly swarm the field with Level 9 monsters. They all have effects that involve tributing your own monsters, but with Generaider Boss Stage you can tribute Generaider Tokens instead of your combo pieces. A special case is the Rank 9 Xyz Monster Laevatein, Generaider Boss of Shadows, who tributes itself to bring out another Xyz Generaider and can then add cards from either field (even your opponent’s) to the Xyz Monster as materials!

Traptrix are a fun deck that uses their monsters to more efficiently activate the various “Hole” Traps, classic cards that can destroy or otherwise remove your opponent’s monsters in special ways. Traptrix are sure to gain more support later on, but a more competitive spin on this strategy may be to use the Labrynth monsters, also included in this pack. They specialize in quickly bringing out and reusing any Normal Trap cards—Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle, for example, sets a Normal Trap directly from the deck when one is activated on the field.

Dreaded Conspiracy is Great for:

  • Experimenting from many different types of competitive rogue decks. There are many different archetypes included in this pack, and while they’re all modern, none of them are completely meta. So you can have some more variety in your games while still playing Yu-Gi-Oh! in a fast-paced style.
  • Providing support for specific kinds of cards. Many archetypes featured here don’t just support themselves, but also larger categories of cards. For example, Magikey Deity - Ashtartu’s effects synergize very well with Normal Monsters; Beargram, Shelled Emperor of the Forest Crown works with Insect and Plant monsters; and Traptrix Atypus allows use to gain additional use off of Normal Traps in the Graveyard.
  • Providing a poor man’s Maxx “C”, in case you don’t have the UR crystals to craft it. Sneaky “C”, a UR Insect-type, is a handtrap that gives you a chance to destroy all Special Summoned monsters at the end of the turn. Though harder to pull off, it might provide the same kind of card advantage that Maxx “C” can give, but by destroying your opponent’s cards instead of getting more draws.

Dreaded Conspiracy Price: 1000 Gems for 10 Packs

7. Space-Time Transcendents

"Let's do the Time Warp again!" will constantly be on the back of your mind if you play TIme Thieves.

Mix up Doctor Who and Bladerunner, add in a cyberpunk setting, and you’ll have this sci-fi Secret Pack containing three related Psychic archetypes! The S-Force is a security team that travels throughout time and dimensions, chasing after notorious criminals. Their greatest threats are the Xyz-themed Time Thieves; PSY-Frame Driver, a lone wolf who uses various armor pieces for Synchro Summoning; and the cat-like Link Monster I:P Masquerena.

The S-Force themselves are not that strong in actual gameplay, but it’s a different story when it comes to the Time Thieves. They can steal your opponent’s cards as a way to activate their effects, especially if you use the Xyz Monster Time Thief Redoer.

Redoer attaches a card to itself from the top of the opponent’s deck every Standby Phase, and depending on what card it is, it can activate a different time travel effect. If it detaches a monster, it will travel to the future, banishing itself until the end of the turn. If it’s a spell, you get an extra draw, stealing a card from the future; and if it’s a trap, you’ll send an opponent’s face-up card back to the past, placing it on top of their deck.

PSY-Frame Driver uses various amplifier PSY-Framegears as handtraps to disrupt the opponent’s plays. Eventually he can use the Framegears to Synchro Summon and become the mighty PSY-Framelord Omega. The best gear piece is PSY-Framegear Gamma; it will negate an opponent’s monster effect while Special Summoning both itself and Driver at the same time–and Driver doesn’t even have to be in your hand!

PSY-Framelord Omega, on the other hand, has a banishing, a Graveyard sending, and a shuffle into the deck effect. Just one monster has access to all these disruption options, and you can pick whichever one you want, depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the deck you’re facing.

The Link-2 I:P Masquerena is a very mysterious thief, and she’s never around for long. She has a Quick Effect where, on your opponent’s turn, she can be used to Link Summon another monster. It sounds simple, but this allows you to dodge your opponent’s card effects, and your new Link Monster will also be immune from all of their destruction effects!

Space-Time Transcendents is Great for:

  • Obtaining Time Thief Redoer, the perfect wild card. He’ll constantly steal your opponent’s resources, and, no matter what kind of card it is, it’ll always grant a very good effect. It’s also a generic Rank 4 monster, which makes it very easy to use with most archetypes and decks.
  • Finding the perfect counter for handtraps. Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and Maxx “C” are both highly-played staples, and PSY-Framegear Gamma can negate their effects while bringing out extra monsters in the process. The fact that you can then easily summon Zeta or Baronne De Fleur afterwards only makes it better.
  • Getting one of the most important Link staples: I:P Masquerena. Her Quick Effect to Link Summon a monster immune to destruction effects is a great way to disrupt your opponent’s moves. Especially if you bring out a boss monster like Underworld Goddess of the Closed World, who can use an opponent’s monster as Link Material and immediately negates all their monsters’ effects.

Space-Time Transcendents Price: 1000 Gems for 10 Packs

6. Singular Strike Overthrow

What if Pot of Greed was legal and restricted to one archetype? If it's a good archetype, then it's Sky Strikers.

Calling all mecha fans! Singular Strike Overthrow contains two powerful Cyberse archetypes, Sky Strikers and Mathmechs, which have both been competitive in the past, and still see play because of their new support cards.

The Sky Strikers are two soldiers who use different armored suits to continuously gain resources throughout the match. And the Mathmechs are robots who use the mathematical operations to constantly change the Attack and Defense Points of monsters on the field.

In a Sky Striker deck, you’ll immediately link away the Main Deck girls, Sky Striker Ace - Raye and Sky Striker Ace - Roze, into one of their combat forms. This is because the archetype’s Spell Cards require you to have no monsters in the Main Monster Zones, and you’ll want to use as many spells as possible so you can use their Graveyard-related effects. With cards like Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage! (a Pot of Greed when you have at least 3 Spell cards in the grave), you can keep your combo going and overwhelm your opponent with your constant Spells!

The Mathmechs can also be overwhelming, but with monsters rather than spells. Their Main Deck Level 4 monsters have effects to Special Summon a Mathmech, and they’ll each grant Attack boosts, an extra attack, or other bonus effects to one monster on your field. If you can apply all of these effects to Geomathmech Final Sigma–a Synchro Monster with 3000 Attack Points who deals double Battle Damage–you’ll be capable of terrifying One Turn Kills!

Singular Strike Overflow is Great for:

  • Playing a control strategy based on Spell cards. Using Sky Strikers, you’ll be playing to gradually outresource your opponent, constantly getting more cards and gaining access to more disruption effects. For instance, the spell Sky Striker Mecha - Widow Anchor negates an enemy monster’s effects–and then, when you have 3 or more Spell cards in the grave, you can steal that monster for yourself!
  • Making big-brained calculations to turn the tables. Just like the name suggests, Mathmechs use the power of math to quickly eliminate your opponent’s Life Points. You’ll be constantly stacking boosting and weakening effects in order to OTK on Turns 2 and 3.
  • Making decks you can use over a long period of time. Both Sky Strikers and Mathmechs continue to receive a lot of good support in the physical card game, so we know they’ll be even stronger in Master Duel eventually. We’ve already seen this Secret Pack receive new Sky Striker cards in the past, so it’s only a matter of time until they get even more of their cards!

5. Cosmic Mechanical Entities

Once Knightmare Corruptor Iblee locks your opponent out of Special Summoning, they'll be stuck in a literal nightmare!

Some of the most exciting lore in modern-day Yu-Gi-Oh! comes from cards related to the World Legacies, of which this pack has plenty. In a post-apocalyptic world, the Mekk-Knights are on a mission to protect these World Legacies, the last remnants of an ancient technological civilization. Helping them are the Krawlers, mechanical insects with a hive mind.

Sadly, an evil fairy named Lee was able to overpower the Mekk-Knights and converted them into her own personal army: the Knightmares.

All Mekk-Knights are able to Special Summon themselves to any column on the field where there are at least two cards in play. They also have unique effects related to columns: for example, Mekk-Knight Red Moon can destroy a card in its same column, and Mekk-Knight Indigo Eclipse can move a Mekk-Knight to a neighboring column.

But the Knightmare monsters are undoubtedly the standout cards here. These Link Monsters are staples for almost every deck in the game, from the rogue ones to the meta ones. What makes them so useful is that they are very accessible forms of removal whenever you’re in a tough spot.

Link-2 Knightmare Cerberus discards one card in order to destroy an opponent’s Special Summoned monster. Meanwhile, Link-2 Knightmare Phoenix can discard a card to destroy one of their Spells or Traps.

Link-3 Knightmare Unicorn, on the other hand, will, after your discard, shuffle any opponent’s card back into their deck. This is the strongest form of removal there is, since that card can’t be easily recovered. And all Knightmares net you extra draws if they are co-linked when activating their effects!

Finally, the leader of the archetype, Knightmare Corruptor Iblee, locks its controller out of any form of Special Summoning, save for Link Summons. The kicker here is that when it’s sent to the Graveyard, it automatically Special Summons itself to the opposite field! So you can link her away on your first turn, and then if they have no Link-1 monsters in the Extra Deck, or if you can stop them from Link Summoning, they’ll have no way of bringing out their boss monsters!

Cosmic Mechanical Entities is Great for:

  • Getting staple forms of removal that any deck can use. Both the SR Link-2 Knightmare Cerberus and the SR Link-2 Knightmare Phoenix discard 1 card to destroy an opponent’s monster or backrow card, respectively. It’s even better if you get the UR card Knightmare Unicorn: you’ll shuffle any one of their cards back into the deck instead, and maybe even draw an extra card!
  • Lockdown or control strategies. Knightmare Corruptor Iblee prevents its controller from almost all forms of Special Summoning. If your opponent has no Link-1s in their Extra Deck, or you can lock them out of Link Summons, you’ll win right then and there!
  • Experimenting with alternative gameplay styles. Mekk-Knights turn the Field’s columns into dangerous hazards, while Krawlers modernize Flip Effects for the current format. Knightmares make it possible to use an Extra Link strategy, where you summon enough Link monsters to occupy both Link Monster zones, locking your opponent out of Link Summoning!

Cosmic Mechanical Entities Price: 1000 Gems for 10 Packs

4. Shot Through Fiction

A card that can let you negate any effect, multiple times a turn? This Borreload is a Savage Dragon indeed.

Shot Through Fiction is an excellent Secret Pack to dive into, seeing as Dragon Link has once again entered the metagame. The Rokket monsters, your main engine in this deck type, self-destruct as a way to bring out more of themselves from the deck–and sometimes they’ll activate additional effects in the process. This means they’re an excellent tool in Link Summoning combos, and can quickly lead into one of the Borrel dragons to crush your opponent.

Rokkets can guarantee card advantage through both of the SR Spell cards in this pack. The Quick-Play Spell Quick Launch will Emergency Teleport a Rokket from the deck to your field. That Rokket monster will be destroyed at the end of your turn, but that just means you’ll be able to use its Graveyard effect.

On the other hand, the Field Spell Boot Sector Launch will often Special Summon two or more Rokket dragons each turn. It can even be searched by the combo extender Link-1 Striker Dragon.

Noctovision Dragon and Rokket Synchron are cards that can support DARK Dragons in general, not just Rokkets. This creates possibilities to combine Rokket Dragons with other powerful Dragon archetypes. Many players decide to include Chaos Dragons, Thunder Dragons, or even Blue-Eyes Chaos Max Dragon into their Dragon Link Decks.

If that wasn’t enough, this pack’s boss monsters–the Borrel dragons–offer options for every occasion. If pure Link Summoning is what you prefer, then go for the original Borreload Dragon, who steals monsters; or Borrelsword Dragon, a card that attacks twice and will always have higher Attack Points than even your opponent’s strongest monster.

Want to Fusion Summon instead? Then play Borreload Furious Dragon, a monster with the ability to destroy one card on both players’ fields. It can even resurrect one of your Link Monsters when it’s in the Graveyard.

How about Synchro Summoning? Well, in that case, choose Borreload Savage Dragon. It equips itself with a Link Monster from your grave, and that monster’s Link Rating can give you multiple omni-negates in a single turn!

Shot Through Fiction is Great for:

  • A strategy that swarms the field by multiplying your Rokkets. The starter card Rokket Tracer can instantly replace itself with another Rokket, and, if it’s not in your opening hand, Absorouter Dragon can search it out. Most of the other Rokkets have Graveyard effects that’ll Special Summon other Rokkets from the Deck at the end of the turn.
  • Supporting Dragon decks in general. Link-1 Guardragon Pisty and Link-2 Hieratic Sphere of the Heavenly Spheres, two staple Dragon Link cards, provide easy ways of Special Summoning all kinds of dragons from your deck. With Rokkets, you’ll easily have the needed materials to summon these monsters; and both Triple Burst Dragon and Booster Dragon will recycle those combo pieces whenever you need them.
  • Supporting most Extra Deck summoning strategies. Rapid Trigger can Fusion Summon by destroying monsters on your field–which triggers your Rokkets’ Graveyard effects. Both Rokket Tracer and Rokket Synchron are Tuner monsters, and you can even summon a Borrel Xyz Monster: Borreload eXcharge Dragon!

Shot Through Fiction Price: 1000 Gems for 10 Packs

3. Echo Chamber Nation

The White Knight of Dogmatika uses the church's power to strike down any and all Extra Deck monsters.

Echo Chamber Nation is a perfect pack for new players, as it features cards from two strong engines: Dogmatika and Tri-Brigade. Both of them can be played purely, but, more importantly, they provide a lot of utility in many other deck types. This pack also includes Spriggans, FIRE Machine monsters that attach themselves to Xyz Monsters and add on to their effects.

The Dogmatika are a nation led by the church and are opposed to all forms of “unnatural” power. These LIGHT Spellcasters have special abilities specifically made to counter and defeat monsters summoned from the Extra Deck. For example, Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous, this archetype’s starter, can Special Summon herself if a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Link, or sometimes even a Pendulum Summoned monster is on the field–and she can’t be destroyed in battle by these monsters either.

Then there are more powerful monsters like Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted, who Special Summons herself this way–except she can even do it on the opponent’s turn–and then negates any one monster’s effects. The leader of the Dogmatika Nation, Dogmatika Maximus, forces both players to send 2 monsters from their Extra Deck to their Graveyard. With some careful planning, this archetype can counter the monsters your opponent needs most to win!

The Tri-Brigade are an alliance of soldiers from three enemy tribes: a tribe of Beasts, one of Winged-Beasts, and one of Beast-Warriors. Together they can provide support to all of these monster types, also known as the “tri-types”. And they all have an effect to banish any number of these monsters from the Graveyard to Special Summon Link tri-type monsters from the Extra Deck (with that number as their Link Rating).

So, you can banish 2 tri-types, for example, to summon Tri-Brigade Ferrijit the Barren Blossom, a Link-2 monster that Special Summons a Level 4 or lower tri-type from your hand. Or you can banish 4 to get the Link-4 Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen, who banishes a monster on the field right after he’s summoned!

Echo Chamber Nation is Great for:

  • Crafting an anti-Extra Deck strategy. The Dogmatika cards can be used purely or in conjunction with other archetypes to lock your opponent out of their best monsters! Just remember that they lock you out of the Extra Deck too on the turn you use their effects.
  • Strengthening any Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged-Beast deck. From Harpies to Crystal Beasts and Lyrilusc, plenty of tri-type archetypes love the Tri-Brigades because of their ability to load the Graveyard and swarm the field with Link Monsters. They are at their strongest when paired with the Zoodiac archetype; they can consistently summon a high-attack Zoodiac Drident that destroys cards on both players’ turns!
  • Supporting an Extra Deck mill strategy with key cards. Nadir Servant and Dogmatika Punishment both send Extra Deck monsters to the Graveyard as part of their effects. These are perfect when combined with cards like Elder Entity N’Tss, who destroys a card on the field when sent to the grave; or Herald of the Arc Light, who searches for a Ritual monster or spell card when it’s sent there.

Echo Chamber Nation Price: 1000 Gems for 10 Packs

2. Alba Abyss

The Fallen of Albaz's potential grows with every bond he makes, as seen in Branded in White.

Alba Abyss sets itself apart from other Secret Packs by being a newer addition to Master Duel–while most Secret Packs were present at Master Duel’s launch, this one was only released in November of 2022. It’s no surprise, then, that Alba Abyss is one of the strongest packs in the game, especially since it contains meta-influencing cards from three previous Selection Packs.

The pack is centered around the Branded archetype, a series of Dragon Fusion monsters and support cards that all rely on a single Main Deck monster: the Fallen of Albaz. This mysterious boy, who remembers nothing about his past, absorbs power from his surroundings to shapeshift into powerful dragons. This can be done through Albaz’s own effect, which fuses himself with your enemy’s monsters; or through the chase card Branded Fusion, a Spell that uses monsters from the hand, field, or Deck as Fusion materials.

This boy was being hunted by the Dogmatika and took refuge with the Tri-Brigades, according to the Albaz lore. So it makes sense that this pack also contains cards from those archetypes. The standout cards include Nadir Servant, which sends a card from your Extra Deck to your grave to search out Fallen of Albaz or a Dogmatika card; and Tri-Brigade Mercourier, a handtrap that negates enemy effects when an Albaz dragon is on the field.

Alba Abyss is Great for:

  • Providing an engine that accelerates Fusion strategies. Fallen of Albaz and Branded Fusion provide some of the quickest ways of reaching your Fusion boss monsters while building up card advantage. From Dark Magician and Buster Blader all the way to Tearlaments, many decks have been able to mix in these cards!
  • Building a deck around summoning powerful Dragon fusions. A typical Branded play is to first bring out Albion the Branded Dragon, who immediately Fusion Summons another monster by banishing materials from the Graveyard. Mostly this means you’ll be summoning Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon, who Quick Effect banishes a monster, and even destroys all monsters at the end of the turn when it leaves the field.
  • Collecting staple Dogmatika cards. If you want Dogmatika as your main archetype, then it would be better to go for Echo Chamber Nation, but if you’re making a Branded deck, then you’ll still get some versatile Dogmatika cards as a bonus. You’ll luck out if you get Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous, a combo starter who can’t be destroyed by Extra Deck monsters in battle; or Nadir Servant, which grants you access to powerful Graveyard effects of cards like Elder Entity N’Tss and Titaniklad the Ash Dragon.

1. Climax of the Showdown

Albaz's dark half, Aluber, transforms into The Bystial Lubellion and leads the other Bystials to dominate the landscape!

This pack is a must-have if you plan on following the evolving power level of Yu-Gi-Oh!’s cards. Tearlaments are still the top deck in Master Duel, and the Bystials in this pack provide the perfect counter to them. They’ll also be essential to fend off the next superpowered archetype, Kashtira, when they finally make their way into the game.

The Bystials can all be Special Summoned on a Quick Effect by banishing a LIGHT or DARK monster from either player’s grave. So they provide excellent ways of depleting your opponent’s resources and interrupting their plays while building your board in the process. The only exceptions here are The Bystial Lubellion, who can instead discard itself to search out any Bystial that you choose; and The Bystial Alba Los, who can cancel all Extra Deck monster effects if you Tribute two Bystials to summon him, and can even banish both players’ entire Extra Decks for a turn!

Now the pack is called Climax of the Showdown because, in the Albaz lore, it represents the climactic faceoff of the Fallen of Albaz and his allies (the Springans, Tri-Brigades, and Therions) against the Despians and Dogmatika Alba Zoa. And so you’ll see that this Selection Pack also contains support cards for all these archetypes too.

Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous, the corrupted form of Albaz’s old friend, is another handy Fusion Summoning engine, allowing you to fuse without Polymerization and then recycle her to use again on your next turn. She can be used to Fusion Summon Granguignol the Dusk Dragon, a monster that can mill Bystials to the Graveyard and search out more Dogmatika and Despia cards.

She can also make it easy to summon the monstrous Dogmatika Alba Zoa, an imposing Level 12 Ritual Monster. With 4000 Attack and Defense Points, it can mitigate the effects of your opponent’s Extra Deck monsters, return them to the Extra Deck, or even discard from their hand!

Another card worth mentioning is the Fusion Monster Wake Up Your Elemental HERO. It has an indefinite number of materials required for its summon, but for each Fusion Monster that you use, it gains an additional attack every turn. Not only that, but it also burns your opponent’s Life Points for the ATK of every monster it battles!

Climax of the Showdown is Great for:

  • Collecting the Bystial cards, the single greatest advantage of this Selection Pack. Banishing monsters from the opponent’s Graveyard on their turn is incredibly powerful, and by itself is enough to break many lesser decks. These cards will define the future of Master Duel’s meta, so be sure to collect them all: The Bystial Lubellion, The Bystial Alba Los, and Bystials Magnamhut, Baldrake, Druiswurm, and Saronir.
  • Providing lots of support for Branded and Branded-adjacent decks. Blazing Cartesia is perfect for a deck that includes Fallen of Albaz, as is Rindbrumm the Striking Dragon, which can negate the effects of Extra Deck monsters, bounce them, and revive itself from the Graveyard. And there’s also new cards like Tri-Brigade Arms Bucephalus II and Spright Sprind to further improve the combos of these decks.
  • Getting more cards from the Elemental HERO and Neos archetypes. It’s true that a lot of these cards are outdated, but you can also encounter useful mainstays like the Elemental HEROs Neos Alius and Blazeman. You can even fuse a Neos with this pack's Armed Dragon LV10 White to get Armed Neos, a card that can tag itself out for another HERO and destroy all monsters weaker than a dragon in your grave!

Climax of the Showdown Price: 1000 Gems for 10 Packs
