Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town Best Bachelor To Marry

What an in-game wedding looks like

Why get married in the new Friends of Mineral Town? Taking a spouse will guarantee you a date for the romantic festivals such as the Fireworks festival and Starlight Night, as well as gifts for other holidays. Plus, if you’re looking to start a family, you’re going to need a co-parent! In this remake, you can romance both boys and girls regardless of which gender you decide to play as, but this article will focus on the potential grooms.

You bond with your love interests through ‘Heart Events’, one for each affection level. This is how you build a relationship with your prospects and learn more about them. In this Story of Seasons title, there is no ‘better’ husband in terms of game mechanics, so choosing one is strictly a matter of opinion. The list below ranks the available guys in terms of personality, with the exception being:

#9: Kappa

Like the Harvest Goddess, you need to essentially 100% the game in order to marry Kappa; and on top of that, he doesn’t even seem to like you! He won’t live with you after marriage, and will often tell you to leave him alone. Marrying Kappa can be fun for completionists, but not much else.

Marry Kappa if:
1. You just want to annoy Kappa
2. You grow a lot of cucumbers (the only gift he’ll accept)
3. You want the challenge

#8: HuangHuang is a merchant who tends to…exaggerate the quality of some of his products. He’s a bit of a scam artist, to be honest. Still, you can get free goodies from Huang if you choose to romance him. You’ll actually need to buy an expensive

Marry Huang if:
1. You like money
2. You like spending money
3. You like apples (Huang sells a lot of these)

#7: Bon Vivant
Once known as ‘Gourmet’, Bon Vivant is the judge of Mineral Town’s yearly cooking contest. He’s only in town once a year, but you can steadily increase his affection for you simply by using your kitchen. You have to flex your cooking skills and cook all available recipes in order to win his heart, but at least he finds time to stay with you between his travels!

Marry Bon Vivant if:
1. You love to cook
2. You don’t mind having a traveling husband
3. You like to participate in the Cooking Contest

#6: Brandon
Brandon is exclusive to this remake, being a reclusive artist that lives with Gotz. He’s not what you would call a ‘people person’, but he’s handy with wood and is very devoted once he falls for you--just be prepared to look after him when he falls into creative slumps!

Marry Brandon if:
1. You’re into artists
2. You want to be an artist’s muse
3. You like being the caretaker in the relationship

#5: KaiKai is only in Mineral Town for the summer while he runs his restaurant, and remains that way up until you marry him. This makes the courting process a bit of a challenge; but personality wise, Kai is a fun choice for an easygoing husband. When he visits during the summer season, you can find him on the beach, either outside or inside his restaurant.

Marry Kai if:
1. You want a husband that can cook
2. You’re a laid-back person
3. You love the summertime

#4: Doctor
Doctor is the, well…Doctor of the town. Just Doctor. He’s a quirky guy with good intentions and strange medicine he likes to test on you--all for the good of your health! He’s easy to romance though, so Doctor is a good choice if you want to marry early on in your game.

Marry Doctor if:
1. You don’t mind being a medicine guinea pig
2. You want to marry quickly
3. You like to forage (many of Doctor’s favorite gifts are herbs)

#3: Cliff
Cliff is a timid traveler that spends a lot of time in the church repenting for a mysterious past. You can help him get a job in town, and doing so helps him fight his insecurities. One of his early events can’t be unlocked until after he gets the job in Fall of your first year, so speedrunners looking to marry Cliff will have to be a bit patient. The time spent is well worth it for the depth of love he holds for a patient farmer.

Marry Cliff if:
1. You like shy guys
2. You’re in it for the character development
3. You’re not in a rush to marry

#2: GrayGray is a bit prickly upon first meeting him, but after that he holds a great deal of respect for you as a farmer. He’s an apprentice blacksmith to his grandfather Saibara, who tends to be a little too hard on him. Gray is also fond of books, being one of the only villagers who visits the library.

Marry Gray if:

1. You like handmade accessories
2. You’re a bookworm
3. You want to give Gray a break from his grandfather

#1: RickRick is responsible and cares for his family, and while a bit uptight, it's understandable given the absence of his father. If you marry Rick, you know you’ll be in good hands with someone who knows his way around a chicken.

Marry Rick if:
1. You like a family man
2. You really like eggs
3. You DON’T like Kai (Rick hates that guy)
