[Top 10] Rainbow 6 Siege Best Long Range Guns
Rainbow Six Siege gameplay is set up as something like a special operations mission in an urban area, that’s why most encounters are in close range and there’s no need to implement bullet-drop like in Battlefield. But even with the close-range nature of this game, we are still treated to some of the most badass designated marksman rifles in the game world.
10. 9mm C1
Alright, I know I mentioned designated marksman rifles in the introduction, but Frost’s 9mm C1 deserves a special mention. This low recoil gun is great for long-range strafing because of its stability. It also has an extended barrel which greatly reduces the range damage penalty, meaning that even at long range, this gun will still inflict high damage. You can also attach a suppressor to it which will also be good for long-range strafing because suppressors remove the directional threat indicator and the muzzle flash. Meaning unless they physically see you, your opponents won’t have an idea where they’re being shot from.
What makes 9mm C1 great:
- Attachment options
- Low recoil
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 45
- Fire Rate – 575
- Mobility – 50
- Capacity - 34
9. AR-15.50
The AR-15.50 is one of the most underrated DMRs in the game, most likely because of Mav’s usual role of making holes on reinforced walls, that’s why he’s seldom sniping from long range. But make no mistake, this baby does a lot of damage as a designated marksman rifle, not to mention that it looks completely badass.
What makes AR-15.50 great:
- High stopping power
- Attachment options
- Stable recoil
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 52
- Mobility – 50
- Capacity – 10
8. BOSG.12.2
Now this is not a designated marksman rifle, but let’s face it, it’s mostly used as one. At 125 damage, this gun is one of the most powerful in the game. One hit from this gun can be fatal or would probably put an opponent in a down-but-not-out (dbno state). It also has a fast fire-rate and its only weakness is its very low (2) bullet capacity per magazine. This gun is actually classified as a shotgun, but make no mistake, it’s one of the most dangerous long-range guns in Siege.
What makes BOSG.12.2 great:
- Very high damage
- Attachment options
- Versatility
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 125
- Mobility – 50
- Capacity - 2
7. TCSG12
The TCSG12 is another gun on the list which isn’t classified as a designated marksman rifle. Like the BOSG.12.2, it’s classified as a shotgun, but everybody treats it as the “defending sniper rifle”. It has high stopping power and is pretty stable as long as the player doesn’t go crazy with the firing rate.
What makes TCSG12 great:
- High damage
- Stable firing
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 53
- Mobility – 50
- Capacity - 10
6. CAMRS
One of the best designated marksman rifles in the game. It looks very badass with the Black Ice skin too. This DMR makes a whopping 69 damage per shot unsuppressed, it’s highly customizable, and its recoil is quite easy to control as long as the player maintains a good shooting pace. It’s a great weapon for Buck because with the CAMRS he can excel at any range, using it for medium to long-range encounters and the skeleton key’s under-barrel shotgun for close ones.
What makes CAMRS great:
- Heavy damage
- Stable recoil
- Attachment options
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 69
- Mobility – 50
- Capacity - 20
5. 417
Another very underrated designated marksman rifle in the game. Probably because most Twitch and Lion players mostly use their assault rifles instead of this one. Understandable, but players really shouldn’t sleep on this bad boy. Its recoil can be pretty rough, but it has higher bullet capacity than most DMRs. It also has a wide variety of attachments to choose from in order to customize the gun to suit your play style.
What makes 417 great:
- High damage
- Attachment options
- Bullet capacity
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 69
- Mobility – 50
- Capacity - 20
4. SR-25
Our attacking Navy Seal operator wouldn’t be complete without his SR-25 designated rifle. The SR-25 shares a lot of similarities with the 417. They both have some really good attachment options, and both have around about the same recoil pattern.
What makes SR-25 great:
- High damage
- Attachment options
- Bullet capacity
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 51
- Mobility – 38
- Capacity - 20
3. Mk 14 EBR
I honestly wouldn’t argue with the above video’s thumbnail. The Mk 14 EBR is pretty OP. The wide variety of attachments available to it makes it very customizable to the players’ own strengths. It has a pretty rough recoil, but it's easy to get used to its recoil and master the proper fire rate for this gun. Just like most DMRs in the game, this gun also does heavy damage, even with its fast fire-rate.
What makes Mk 14 EBR great:
- High damage
- Attachment options
- High fire-rate
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 60
- Mobility – 50
- Capacity - 20
2. CSRX 300
One hit from Kali’s designated marksman rifle almost always guarantees a fatality or at least a down-but-not-out (dbno) state. It’s the gun with the most damage in the game. And even though its fire rate is slow and each shot leaves a very visible bullet trace; knowing that there’s a Kali on the attacking team immediately unsettles the defenders, and knowing that they can be neutralized with just one shot can make any defender mess up their rhythm.
What makes CSRX 300 great:
- Very high damage
- Long-range recon
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 127
- Mobility – 50
- Capacity - 5
1. OTs-03
The designated marksman rifle for Glaz. One of the most underrated. Probably because Glaz himself is underrated. This DMR is the one that is easiest to get a headshot with because of its thermal scope. Despite the nerf, this author stands by his claim that it’s the best long-range gun in Siege, especially because the player possesses the ability to remove the thermal scope whenever he wants and be effective in close-range too when the situation calls for him to engage in close quarters combat.
What makes Ots-03 great:
- Heavy damage
- Thermal scope
- Stable recoil
- Customizable in real time
Weapon stats:
- Damage – 71
- Mobility – 36
- Capacity - 15
