[Top 10] R6 Best Defense Teams That Are Powerful
10. Solis + Fenrir + Kapkan + Melusi + Maestro
Right off the bat, veteran Siege players will probably notice the lack of hard breach denial here, and that's right. That’s because there are objective spots that you’ll play in competitive matches that don't really require much hard breach denial. So for objective spots like that, it’s better to not pick a hard breach denial operator at all, and benefit from an operator that will give your team other advantages instead. This team composition is a good all-around team because you’ll have intel gathering, intel denial, area-denial, trapping, and crowd control.
Solis is great at intel denial because her special gadget allows her to scan enemy electronic devices in real time, and that of course will make it easy for her to disable them. Fenrir is a great area-denial operator because when enemies step into the radius of his Dread Mines, their vision will be severely limited in range, and that will leave them very vulnerable to defender gunfire. On top of that, you’ll have Melusi who can slow down enemies who are affected by the Dread Mines so it’ll be harder for them to back away and regroup. Maestro will help with intel denial and intel gathering, and Kapkan will be dealing a lot of damage to enemies.
What Makes This Team Great:
- Solis will be able to easily disable enemy electronic devices as she can scan them in real time and she can even share the results of her scan to her whole team
- Fenrir excels at making enemies panic and putting them in a vulnerable spot with his Dread Mines that will severely obscure the vision of enemies who are within their radius
- Kapkan is an excellent trapper and can damage enemies a lot with his special gadget, the EDDs, which he deploys on entryways and enemies who triggers them will get damaged or killed
- Melusi has a great combo for Fenrir because her Banshees can slow enemies down, and when combined with the Dread Mine’s effects, the enemies can really panic and not know what to do
- Maestro, with his two Evil Eyes, provides the attacking team with two bulletproof cameras that can also shoot lasers that damages enemies and can easily disable enemy gadgets
- This team composition is great for objective spots where preventing hard breaching is not that important, so the members specializes in bringing in other benefits to the team
- This team really excels in intel gathering with both Maestro and Solis having special gadgets that specializes in intel gathering as well as intel denial
- This team is also great at area-denial and preventing enemies from pushing, because Fenrir’s Dread Mines and Melusi’s Banshees have an excellent synergy
9. Solis + Azami + Smoke + Mira + Jager
This is another team composition that is great for objective spots where it’s not that important to prevent a hard breach. This team composition focuses a lot in preventing enemies from pushing, gathering intel, as well as capitalizing on their grenades. As for the latter part, Jager is a great operator for intercepting and neutralizing enemy grenades and other projectiles, because that’s the specialty of his special gadget. Mira on the other hand provides the defending team with two one-way bulletproof mirrors that can be deployed for watching two paths of attack leading to the objective spot.
With Mira’s Black Mirror on a path of attack, it can be very hard for the attacking to push through that spot, as Mira and other defenders can clearly see them from the Black Mirror, and frag them from the soft wall beside it. And if that’s not hard enough, the defending team even has Smoke which excels at area denial through his special gadget, the Remote Gas Grenade. As for Azami, she has a great combo with Mira’s Black Mirror where Mira can just deploy her Black Mirror on a soft wall while Azami makes its bottom part bulletproof with the use of her Kiba Barrier.
What Makes This Team Great:
- Jager, with his special gadget, specializes in intercepting and neutralizing enemy projectiles, especially grenades, and once he deploys his special gadget, he can perform the role of the team’s roamer
- Mira is great at making it very hard for enemies to push two paths of attack leading to the objective spot with the use of her Black Mirror special gadget which is basically a one-way view bulletproof mirror
- Smoke specializes in area-denial with his Remote Gas Grenade which covers a large spot in a cloud of chemical gas that can rapidly drain the health points of enemies
- Azami excels at providing more cover for the team and blocking out lines of sight or vulnerable spots with her Kiba Barriers which also has an excellent synergy with Mira’s Black Mirror
- Solis specializes in disabling enemy electronic gadgets as her special gadget allows her to track them in real time. She’s also able to easily share the positions of enemy electronic gadgets to her whole team
- This team composition specializes in preventing enemies from pushing as Mira’s Black Mirrors and Smoke’s Remote Gas Grenade special gadgets are specifically designed for that
- This team is also great for intel gathering as Mira’s Black Mirror is a one-way view bulletproof glass which allows defenders to spot enemies on the other side without them seeing them back
8. Maestro + Valkyrie + Wamai + Lesion + Melusi
This team composition is another well-rounded one, and one that would be great in objective spots that doesn’t really need much hard breach prevention. With Maestro, the defending team will have two extra pairs of eyes that will be hard to disable because they’re bulletproof, and they can even shoot lasers that can damage enemies and neutralize enemy gadgets. Valkyrie will provide even more set of eyes with her three Black Eye Cameras as each of them can provide a wide view of the room and they can be challenging for attackers to disable as they’re small and can be hard to find.
If the attackers are looking to surprise the defenders with their smoke grenades, stun grenades, or frag grenades, that will likely not happen as Wamai specializes in intercepting and pulling back enemy projectiles. It is also unlikely for this team to be caught off guard because Lesion can deploy his Gu Mines on common paths of attack and when they get stepped on by an enemy, that enemy won’t be able to sprint and they will experience damage-over-time until they remove it. The Gu Mine that was triggered will also produce a distinct sound that will alarm the defending team of enemy presence.
What Makes This Team Great:
- Melusi has three Banshees and she can deploy them on three entryways, and whenever an enemy steps into their radius, they’ll get severely slowed down and the sound will also alarm defenders
- Lesion’s Gu Mines are a great supplement to Melusi’s Banshees and the longer the round goes, the more Gu Mines Lesion can deploy, and each of them are great at slowing enemies and alarming defenders
- Wamai will neutralize enemy grenades as well as their projectiles with the use of his special gadget, the Mag-NET, and like Lesion, the longer the round goes, the more Mag-NET he can deploy
- Valkyrie will provide the whole team with three extra cameras and they can provide a wide view of the surroundings and it’ll be hard for enemies to disable them as they’re small and easy to hide
- Maestro will not only provide two more cameras that are bulletproof to the defending team, he’d also be able to disable enemy gadgets through his Evil Eyes’ lasers as well as damage enemies with them
- This team composition specializes in intel gathering as both Maestro and Valkyrie’s special gadgets are great for surveillance, so with this setup, the defending team will always know where enemies are
- This team also specializes in slowing enemies down, so it’s great for countering rushes or aggressive players as both Melusi and Lesion’s special gadgets are great for slowing down enemies
7. Tachanka + Smoke + Wamai + Jager + Kaid
This is the type of team that you’d want after just losing a round where the attacking team rushed while leading with smoke grenades and then proceeded on planting. That’s because with this team, they won’t be able to do that again, not a chance. Having both Wamai and Jager in the defending team basically ensures that no enemy projectile, especially grenades, will work inside the objective spot. That’s because their special gadget specializes in intercepting projectiles or throwables that are coming from the attackers.
This team will also have two area-denial operators in Smoke and Tachanka, so there would be no way that the attacking team will be able to win with the same strategy, as Tachanka will be able to cover large areas in fire with his Shumikha launcher, and Smoke, instead of fire, can cover large areas with a large chemical gas cloud that quickly damages enemies. As for Kaid, he specializes in preventing enemies from hard breaching, and when enemies can’t breach a wall that connects the objective spot from the outside, they’ll have to push through other paths of attack that will be more difficult to them.
What Makes This Team Great:
- This team will really excel in area-denial as it will have both Smoke and Tachanka in its lineup, and both Smoke’s Remote Gas Grenade and Tachanka’s Shumikha launcher specializes in area-denial
- This team also excels in preventing attackers from capitalizing on their throwables or projectiles, as both Wamai’s Mag-NETs and Jager’s ADS specializes in neutralizing those utilities
- Kaid, with his special gadget, the Electroclaw, will prevent attackers from hard breaching, and that will force them to attack through other angles that will be more difficult to them
- Jager’s ADS will help a lot in neutralizing enemy grenades and projectiles, and since he can deploy them all during prep phase, he can perform the role of the team’s roamer
- Wamai will be one of the team’s anchors as the longer the round goes by, the more Mag-NETs he can deploy, and he can also rework the map with his impact grenades and keratos .357
- Smoke will be another great anchor as he would have the close-range superiority with his M590A1 shotgun as his primary weapon and his SMG-11 machine pistol as his secondary weapon
- Tachanka is a great asset to the team because of his area-denial capabilities, and he’s also much more deadly now that his 9x19VSN has been buffed with high-powered scopes
6. Fenrir + Jager + Melusi + Valkyrie + Thunderbird
This is a very well-rounded team, even more well-rounded than the other ones discussed above, as the operator roles in this team is more balanced. With this team, the defenders will have area-denial, anti-projectile, crowd-control, intel-gathering, and support. For area-denial and crowd control, Fenrir and Melusi’s combination is scary. That’s because Fenrir’s Dread Mines will really obscure the vision of enemies within their radius, and since they’re small, they can be quite hard to find and disable, especially for opponents who are likely panicking.
What will make it worse for them is that it’ll be hard for them to back down as they’d also be slowed down by Melusi’s Banshees. So opponents that are caught within Fenrir and Melusi’s combo would likely be done for. As for Valkyrie, she can play the role of the team’s roamer, and she can provide the whole team with three Black Eye cameras that are great for intel gathering. With her Black Eye Cameras, she’ll always have a good idea when it comes to enemy positions, and she’ll know when and where to hit them from behind. Thunderbird on the other hand will be able to provide a lot of support through her Kona Stations that can provide a lot of healing and even revive defenders who are in a down-but-not-out state.
What Makes This Team Great:
- Has tremendous crowd-control capabilities with Fenrir and Melusi’s combo as Fenrir’s Dread Mines will limit enemies’ vision and make them panic, while Melusi’s Banshees are slowing them down
- Fenrir’s Dread Mines will severely limit the vision of enemies who steps into their radius, and they can be quite hard to spot as they’re small, Fenrir can also have three active Dread Mines at a time
- Jager’s ADS are always great to have because with them around, it’s unlikely for defenders to get killed by frag grenades, and the enemies would find it hard to capitalize on their stun and smoke grenades
- Melusi’s three Banshees can usually cover most if not all entryways to the objective spot, so with Melusi around, especially with her combo with Fenrir, it’ll be hard for defenders to be caught off guard
- The three Black Eye cameras from Valkyrie can be used not just by her, but also by the whole defending team, and that’s a great way for them to always keep track of enemy positions
- Thunderbird’s Kona Stations can provide a lot of healing to the defending team members, and those who are in down-but-not-out state can self-revive when they’re within a Kona Station’s radius
- It’ll be very hard to catch this team off guard as Fenrir and Melusi’s special gadgets will be covering most paths of attack and there’s also going to be Valkyrie’s Black Eyes
5. Castle + Rook + Alibi + Valkyrie + Wamai
This is a very balanced defending team and will excel at many areas in the game like intel-gathering, anti-projectile, roaming, support, and area-denial. With Alibi, this team will have one of the best roamers in the game as she can do so many things with her Prisma holographic clones. Alibi and Valkyrie both roaming will present a lot of trouble to the attacking team, because they can hit from any angle at anytime, and what’s scary is that they’ll usually know the right timing to hit attackers because they’ll have a lot of intel on their positions with the use of Valkyrie’s Black Eyes.
Not only that, but they’ll have tougher armor because of Rook’s Armor Plates, and the whole defending team will be tougher to take down because of that. All of them will also be able to self-revive from a down-but-not-out state because it's one of the benefits from wearing Rook’s Armor Plates. Castle, with his four Armor Panels, will be able to reinforce angles in the objective spot that can be easily exposed, and he can also use them to rework enemy movement. As for Wamai, not only is he going to be great at countering enemy projectiles and throwables, he’ll also be great at reworking the map with his impact grenades.
What Makes This Team Great:
- This team will have two excellent roamers in Valkyrie and Alibi, and having two roamers who are also great intel gatherers can present the attacking team a lot of problems
- The members of this defending team will be tougher than normal due to Rook’s Armor Plates which will add more health points to its wearer and provide them with the ability to self-revive from a dbno state
- Castle can deny area to enemies by blocking entrances with his Armor Panels, and through this, he can rework enemy movements as well as protect vulnerable angles in the objective spot
- Rook will be able to buff the whole defending team’s health rating, making them harder to take down, and his offensive capabilities are impressive as well, especially with his MP5 that can be equipped with a scope 2.0x
- Alibi is a very versatile operator and a deadly roamer as she’s fast and can gather intel on enemies on her own with the use of her Prisma holographic clones
- Valkyrie provides the defending team with three Black Eye cameras and they can be accessed by all defending team members so they’ll always have a good handle on enemy positions
- Wamai is always a great supporting operator to have as with Wamai, enemy grenades and projectiles can be rendered useless. He can also rework the map well with his utilities.
4. Azami + Bandit + Vigil + Jager + Goyo
This is a very balanced team that will work well on most objective spots. That’s because if you’re playing in competitive matches, most of the objective spots that you’ll be defending will have walls that connect to the outside, and those walls are important for defenders to not get breached. That’s where Bandit comes in. With Bandit’s Shock Wires, especially when the Bandit player knows how to perform “Bandit trick”, it’ll be very hard for attackers to successfully perform hard breaching. On top of that, he’ll be supported by Jager’s special gadget, the ADS.
With Jager’s ADS, Bandit and his Shock Wires will be protected from frag grenades, and they’re always great to have for grenade and projectile protection in general. Azami can also protect Bandit with the use of her Kiba Barriers. As for Vigil, he’ll give the attacking team a hard time with his hit and run tactics, especially as his special gadget prevents him from being seen by their cameras. If Bandit fails to protect the wall from being breached, there’s going to be a second layer of protection from attackers who are going to push and plant the defuser, and that will be Goyo’s Volcan Canisters.
What Makes This Team Great:
- This team is well-rounded and there’s a good mix of operator roles from hard breach denial, area-denial, projectile-denial, roaming, as well as crowd control
- Bandit is an integral part of the team as he’d mostly be focusing on preventing attackers from breaching the wall of the objective spot, and if he’s successful, he’ll force the attackers to take paths that will be more difficult for them
- If Bandit fails to prevent the attackers from hard breaching, the defending team will have a second layer of defense which are Goyo’s Volcan Canisters which cover large areas in fire for twenty seconds each
- Jager is always a great operator to have when you’re defending, as without any means to neutralize enemy throwables or projectiles, defenders can easily get killed with frag grenades
- With Azami, there would be more cover in the objective spot and the defenders will be able to protect themselves better. Her Kiba Barriers are also great for protecting Bandit when he’s busy trying to prevent attackers from hard breaching
- Vigil will be able to harass attackers a lot as he can perform hit and run tactics on them and it’s difficult to get a handle on his position as he can turn invisible to enemy cameras
- This team excels a lot in area denial with the combination of Goyo and Azami, as both of their special gadgets are made for that role and they have good synergy with each other
3. Kaid + Mute + Wamai + Maestro + Alibi
This is a really solid defending team with a lot of offensive capabilities as well. It’s a great defense team to have especially when the objective spot is in the basement. That’s because with Kaid on the team, at least two reinforced hatches will be prevented from being breached. As for the wall that connects the objective spot to the outside, Mute can jam it with his Signal Jammer special gadget and use the remaining ones for blocking attacker drones from gathering intel. Mute will also be great for engaging enemies at close to medium range due to his M590A1 shotgun and SMG-11 machine pistol.
If the attackers are able to successfully perform hard breaching on the wall, they’ll have another big hurdle to overcome, which is Maestro’s Evil Eyes. Maestro’s Evil Eyes can prevent attackers from planting the defuser and can also see them even when they're under the cover of smoke. But their smoke grenades will probably not be effective in the first place because Wamai’s Mag-NETS will prevent them from popping off on the spots where they intend them to pop off. Lastly, Alibi will be the team’s roamer and will be the one picking enemies off one by one while performing hit and run tactics.
What Makes This Team Great:
- This team is very balanced and has a great mix of roles, from hard breach prevention, anti-projectile, anti-gadget, intel-gathering, and roaming.
- This team excels in preventing attackers from hard breaching with Kaid protecting reinforced hatches above the objective spot from being breached and Mute being able to jam walls
- With Wamai on the team, it’ll be hard for attackers to push because their smoke grenades and stun grenades will be neutralized, and the same will happen with their frag grenades
- Maestro’s Evil Eyes are great intel gathering utilities and it can continuously shoot lasers that can damage enemies a lot, especially an attacker that will attempt to plant the defuser
- Alibi, with her 3-speed rating, will excel at harassing attackers and picking them off one by one while she’s roaming, and she can confuse them a lot with her Prisma holographic clones
- Kaid is always a great operator to have as he can prevent walls and hatches from being breached, and his TCSG12 shotgun is an excellent long-range weapon that can even be used to rework the map
- Mute is an excellent anchor as he can have close-range superiority with his M590A1 shotgun and still be able to frag opponents at a distance with the use of his SMG-11 machine pistol
2. Rook + Smoke + Bandit + Jager + Lesion
This defending team composition ranks so high because each operator in this team can really make it hard for enemies to push or frag them. It's a very solid team composition with old school operators that are still very powerful and have a huge impact in every round they’re in. With Rook’s Armor Plates, the whole team’s health points will be buffed, making them harder to take down, and they’ll even be granted the ability to self-revive from a down-but-not-out state. Lesion is great at anchoring and he can litter the area around the objective spot with Gu Mines.
His Gu Mines are excellent at slowing down enemies and they’re also great early warning devices. As for Jager, he’s great to have because his ADS can prevent defenders from being killed by frag grenades, and they can easily neutralize smoke grenades and stun grenades from the attackers. Jager can be the team’s roamer since he can deploy all of his ADS at the beginning of the round. Meanwhile, Bandit will of course prevent the attacking team from breaching the important walls around the objective spot, and Smoke will repel pushing enemies with his Remote Gas Grenade.
What Makes This Team Great:
- Rook’s Armor Plates will buff the health points of everyone in the team, making it tougher to take them down with shots to the torso, and they’ll also be able to revive themselves from a dbno state
- Smoke is a great area-denial operator because his special gadget covers a large spot in chemical gas, and he can even enter that cloud of gas without being hurt, and that allows him to quickly take back control of an area
- Bandit will prevent attackers from breaching the important walls of the objective spot, and he’s great at that role, especially when the player knows how to perform the “Bandit trick” effectively
- Jager will be protecting the defenders, especially Bandit and his Shock Wires from enemy frag grenades, and of course, they’ll also be great defense against other types of grenades or projectiles
- Lesion is great countering rushes and highly aggressive enemies as his Gu Mines can slow enemies down by preventing them from sprinting. The sound that they produce when triggered also makes them excellent early warning utilities
- This whole team has very solid defense and offensive capabilities, and special gadgets work well together or support each other, such as in the case of Jager and Bandit
- This team excels in preventing attackers from rushing and planting the defuser as Lesion can slow them down and even if they get through, they can easily be repelled back by Smoke’s Remote Gas Grenade
1. Fenrir + Kaid + Wamai + Mira + Valkyrie
This defending team setup involves three of the most banned operators in ranks emerald and above, so of course, this is a very powerful team, as these operators have a high ban rate for that very same reason. This setup is great for defending a lot of objective spots located in the basement of the maps. With Mira on the defending team, she can make it very hard to push at least two paths of attack, and that’s because her Black Mirror will allow defenders to see and frag the attackers on the other side of the wall while the attackers can’t do the same.
Wamai will be able to prevent attacker projectiles from destroying Mira’s Black Mirrors, and his Mag-NETS are just a great protection from enemy grenades in general. Kaid will prevent attackers from hard breaching important walls or hatches, and if the attackers are able to gain ground, they could easily lose it again because there’s a high chance that Fenrir’s Dread Mines will make them back away in order to regroup. As for the team’s roamer, Valkyrie can perform that role well since she’ll usually have a good handle on enemy positions through her three Black Eye cameras which can also be accessed by the other defending team members.
What Makes This Team Great:
- It would be very hard for the attacking team to push at least two paths of attack because of Mira’s Black Mirror and Wamai’s Mag-NETs that are supporting them
- It would be hard for attacker projectiles and throwables to be effective because Wamai’s Mag-NETS will pull them and detonate them at another spot that the attackers didn’t intent to
- Attackers will have to choose other paths of attack that could be much more difficult for them as Kaid will prevent reinforced walls or reinforced hatches from being breached
- Attackers who manages to gain some ground towards the objective spot can easily be repelled back because of Fenrir’s Dread Mines which will severely limit their vision
- This team will have a very effective roamer in Valkyrie as she’d usually know the right time and place to attack enemies due to the intel that she can get from her three Black Eye cameras
- This is very versatile team and has a solid mix of roles from hard breach prevention, neutralizing projectiles, intel-gathering, crowd-control, and so on
- This team excels at forcing defenders to choose other paths of attack, and those other paths of attack are oftentimes more difficult for them and will leave them more vulnerable to defender gunfire
