[Top 10] Marvel Snap Best Max Grecke Variants That Look Awesome
Max Grecke is a freelance artist with a very unique and captivating art style. His art is heavily stylized and it’s very easy to recognize it at first sight. I’d say his art is characterized by weird shapes and proportions that Max Grecke is able to shape into very unique versions of our favorite Marvel characters.
10.Carnage
Carnage was once a serial killer known as Cletus Kasady, and became Carnage after merging with the offspring of the alien symbiote called Venom during a prison breakout. The symbiote amplified his psychotic nature making him even less mentally stable than he had been previously, and therefore even more dangerous. I love the way Max Grecke captured the fluidness and quickness of the character by drawing him in this hunched down pose. Carnage looks ready to pounce and I love the symbiote splatter that can be seen around him.
9.Doctor Doom
Doctor Doom is a Latverian politician who serves as the Monarch and Supreme Leader for the Kingdom of Latveria. He was scarred from an accident and wears an iron mask and armor to hide his true face. He is considered one of the most brilliant minds and scientists on the planet Earth. Doctor Doom is a very dignified and intelligent villain. Max Grecke represents that in his art by giving him a stoic pose and a calm expression. This art is also incredibly aesthetically pleasing and I think that’s because of the way that he’s shaded, and standing alone in an unknown place.
8.Green Goblin
Norman Osborn was turned into the Green Goblin by a chemical solution he had devised based upon a formula originally conceived by Professor Mendel Stromm. The process granted Osborn superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, and stamina as well as a low-level rapid healing factor. This is one of the less serious variants that still manages to look incredibly cool. He’s depicted with a rather carefree smile for a merciless super villain. Nonetheless, it’s a really nice looking variant and I love the face expressions on the Goblin and the small pumpkin.
7.Lizard
Using himself as the first test subject, Connors injected himself with a dose of his formula and was ecstatic when his arm began to regenerate. However, the reptilian DNA his serum was based on mixed with, and altered, his own DNA, and turned him into a vicious creature known as The Lizard. Lizard is usually a menacing villain that’s gone crazy, but I’m tempted to forgive all of his misdeeds because of his facial expression on this variant. Lizard has struck a very fearful pose, ripping his shirt into pieces, while also managing to look rather cute with his ‘derpy’ face.
6.Onslaught
Onslaught was a sentient psionic entity created from the consciousness of two extremely powerful mutants: Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto. Xavier used his telepathic powers to shut down Magneto's mind, rendering him catatonic. During the psionic contact, Magneto's anger, grief, and lust for vengeance entered Professor Xavier's consciousness. I love this variant because it really depicts how much Max Grecke likes over exaggerating proportions to make his characters look more menacing. Onslaught’s chest is puffed up and we look at him from above which is a great way to make him look epic!
5.Hazmat
Norman Osborn kidnapped Jenny and jump-started her powers against her will. When she returned home, her family became exposed to her long enough that they became ill and her dog died. Hank Pym met with Jenny and invited her to the Avengers Academy. Hazmat was forced to wear a protective radiation suit at all times when around others. I particularly like the effects around Hazmat in this variant. The green gas clouds look very cool and they only get better as you upgrade the card. Even though that’s Hazmat’s usual color scheme - I really like the way that yellow and green on this card mixes together.
4.Thor
Thor is the son of Odin, the All-Father and King of Asgard. He was worshiped by the humans known as Vikings and became part of Norse Mythology. Armed with his enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir, which helps him to channel his godly energies, he became the mightiest warrior in the Ten Realms. Another character with a puffed up chest by Max Grecke that looks amazing! Thor also looks very menacing and dangerous with big beefed up muscles. I love the lightning effect that brings life to the variant once you upgrade it and get the effects pop.
3.Killmonger
Raised in America, the man known as Erik Killmonger returns to his father's home of Wakanda determined to overthrow T'Challa and rule the nation himself. Erik “Killmonger” Stevens challenged the Black Panther for the throne of Wakanda with special ops skills, devious tactics, and an eye on changing the world. I just love the design of this Killmonger variant. He looks so cool coming out of the water with his sword and spear. He looks smug and fearless which is a great look for him.
2.Hobgoblin
In the Earth-616 Universe, the Hobgoblin mantle has been passed to many individuals, though former fashion designer Roderick Kingsley is the original, longest running and possibly best-known Hobgoblin. I just love how Hobgoblin’s design looks so dynamic as he flies. His pose is amazing and his maniacal facial expression adds to the entire feel of the variant.
1.Deadpool
Like Wolverine, Deadpool is (or is thought to be) Canadian. The original story had him joining the Weapon X program after being kicked out of the U.S. Army Special Forces and given an artificial healing factor based on Wolverine's thanks to Dr. Emrys Killebrew, one of the head scientists. This is the best-looking Max Grecke variant, and I’d say it perfectly represents everything that’s great about his art style. The use of his dynamic poses is really great in this one and we can see him escaping an explosion he likely caused. I also really like the way his sword and gun look in this variant.
