15 Best Looking Dan Hipp Variants in Marvel Snap

Marvel, Marvel Snap, Best Cards, Card Game

Dan Hipp is an artist and director that worked on Teen Titans GO! His art style is unique and recognizable from a mile away. It’s a cartoon-y style that greatly exaggerates features of heroes and villains he draws.

We are lucky that there are so many of his variants in Marvel Snap, they certainly aren’t for everyone, but it’s nice to have a change of pace from the epic art that other cards have. If you want some more lighthearted cards while you play, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for Dan Hipp.

15.Mysterio

Mysterio is primarily depicted as an adversary of the superheroes Spider-Man and Daredevil. While Mysterio does not possess any superhuman abilities, he is a former special effects artist, illusionist and actor who uses his talents to commit crimes. He is a founding member of the supervillain team the Sinister Six.

Mysterio has some bad variants in my opinion. I think this is his best variant and I have to appreciate how Dan Hipp manages to make Mysterio look menacing in his artstyle. I like how we look at him from the bottom, because that’s something mysterio would do to make himself look bigger.

14.Ultron

Ultron-1 was constructed by Dr. Hank Pym of the Avengers as the famed scientist/adventurer was experimenting in high-intelligence robotics. Ultron became sentient and rebelled, hypnotizing Pym and brainwashing him into forgetting that Ultron had ever existed.

He looks rather evil in this variant. He seems to be attacking something with blasts coming out of his hands, and for a robot, he’s got a very pissed-off face. Ultron has a lot of serious variants that make him look cool, but I think this variant, which depicts him in a more carefree style, is a good look for the character.

13.Sunspot

A mutant from Brazil, Sunspot possesses the ability to absorb and channel solar power. He is idealistic and impulsive, but is considered a close friend to many of his teammates. He is initially portrayed as an important member of the X-Men's 1980s-era junior team and its reincarnation X-Force.

What I really like about this variant is the color. Yes, those are Sunspot’s colors and they can’t change too much, but I really like how these particular black and yellow mix together. Sunspot looks pissed off for some reason, but that just makes him even cuter.

12.Zabu

Zabu is the last known Smilodon (or saber-tooth tigers). Living in the Savage Land (an artificial preserve for prehistoric wildlife), Antarctica, he is the companion of Ka-Zar.

Zabu looks like a mix between a fearsome beast and a playful kitty in this variant. He’s pouncing fiercely towards something, but there’s just something about his derpy facial expression that makes him look cute as hell.

11.Wasp

The Wasp is the partner of Hank Pym (also known as Ant-Man), and later became his wife. She is usually depicted as having the ability to shrink to a height of several centimeters, fly by means of insectoid wings, and fire bioelectric energy blasts.

I just think this variant makes Wasp look so good! Her helmet, her wings, the blasts coming out of her palms, everything just looks good and it’s so well put together.

10.Lockjaw

The massive dog known as Lockjaw is the loyal pet of the Royal Family of the Inhumans, an offshoot of humanity that was genetically altered by the Kree centuries ago whose isolation in the hidden city of Attilan resulted in the development of a high technological society with a focus on genetics.

It’s surprising to me how Lockjaw doesn’t have as many cute variants like Cosmo and Goose. This Variant makes up for it though by being extremely cute. He looks very huggable and he seems to be flying through time or space and sticking his tongue out like any other good boy would.

9.Giganto

The first Giganto seen was one of the mutates created by the Deviant scientists to serve as part of Kro's invasion force when gathered on Monster Island. After Monster Hunters forced Kro to leave Monster Island, Giganto and the other Deviant Mutates found a new master known as the Mole Man and the Deviant Mutates live with him in Subterranea.

Giganto is a big mass of who-knows-what that only knows how to destroy things around him. Dan Hipp makes him look surprisingly huggable in this variant. He’s rather cute walking with his hands out in front of him like a cartoon zombie.

8.Knull

Knull is a primordial deity that came into being following the destruction of the sixth iteration of the cosmos. He was originally content to drift through "the endless void" until the Celestials arrived and began creating the 7th iteration of cosmos. He also became a God of symbiotes and created them all.

Knull is a very big and important deity and Dan Hipp managed to make him look like a cute little knight wielding his sword. I really like the design of the Necrosword and his vicious facial expression. This variant really captures the evilness of the character while still making him look kind of cute.

7.Korg

Korg of Krona is a member of the Warbound, an alliance of gladiators that were once captives on the planet Sakaar. While the Red King's slave, Korg joined the rebellion that would topple a dictatorship placing Hulk on the throne. Like all Kronans, he is vastly strong with an armor of rocky skin.

In this variant Korg looks like he’s flying through space with a fearsome look on his face. I really like the look of his armor in this variant and I have to appreciate his facial expression and the randomness of it all. Why is he flying through space? Why is he mad? Is there a story behind all of that?

6.Wong

Wong is the descendant and look-alike of Kan, a Chinese monk who lived roughly one thousand years ago and was a student of the occult. Kan was also a teacher and a healer, and though his order of monks was devoted to the ways of peace, he was also a skillful warrior who would fight when necessary.

Wong is not a chubby character by design. But there’s just something so captivating and cute about this variant that you wouldn’t really expect from Wong. This is probably the best variant you can get for Wong and you kinda have to appreciate how aesthetically pleasing everything about it is.

5.Goose

Goose is a creature that gets entangled with Carol Danvers and S.H.I.E.L.D. in the 1990s. She is actually a Flerken, a species of catlike aliens who have pocket dimensions in their stomach and can extend an array of tentacles larger than most other species out of her mouth to attack and send things into it.

This is the variant in which Goose’s tentacles are more pronounced compared to other variants. It’s amazing how Dan Hipp manages to make the cutest variant while showing the most vicious side of Goose. There’s something extremely captivating about the friendly face of Goose that makes this an amazing variant!

4.Hobgoblin

Roderick Kingsley is an egotistical socialite and billionaire fashion designer. He decided to create a criminal name for himself by altering Norman Osborn's Goblin formula and improve the Goblin costume/equipment in order to be the original Hobgoblin.

Hobgoblin by nature has a very halloween-ish design. He isn’t meant to be taken as the most serious character and I think that makes him one of the best candidates for a Dan Hipp variant. His features are very exaggerated by nature and that’s even more amplified in this variant.

3.Dracula

Born to Transylvanian nobility in 1430, Vlad Dracula would eventually become the world's most powerful vampire. Driven by lusts for power, companionship, and blood, his centuries of undead existence have brought him into conflict with vampire hunters, other immortals, and, most recently, super-powered heroes.

This variant by Dan Hipp is clearly meant to represent a more stereotypical version of Dracula. He’s not seen clad in armor or wielding his sword, but instead he’s depicted as a stereotypical cartoon vampire. It’s a nice lighthearted take on one of the more grimmer characters.

2.Black Panther

Black Panther is the title held by T'Challa, a member of the royal family of the fictional African country of Wakanda. After the death of his father, T'Challa claimed the throne and the role of Black Panther. He was exposed to a mystical herb that enhanced his strength and agility to near-superhuman levels.

Dan Hipp shows the bestial side of Black Panther by drawing him in the middle of a pounce. He looks a little bit less cute than most of the other art that’s done by Dan Hipp, and that’s in this case a good thing.

1.Ronan The Accuser

Ronan was born on the planet Hala, the ancestral homeworld of the Kree into an Imperial family which generations had fought and died in the thousand year Kree-Nova War between the Kree and Xandarians. During the war, Ronan lost his father, his grandfather and his great-grandfather.

This is just undoubtedly the coolest Dan Hipp variant in my opinion. Ronan is a fearsome villain, but Dan Hipp draws him like a derpy and cute dude with his little hammer. Everything about this caricature is appealing, and this is definitely the best variant you can have for Ronan!
