[Top 3] Marvel Snap Best Galactus Decks And Why They're Good

Marvel, Marvel Snap, Best Cards, Card Game

Galactus is a really unique card that has a playstyle unlike any other card in Marvel Snap. Galactus is one of the “big bad” cards, which means that he’s a permanent pool 5 card alongside Thanos and Kang, so the only way to get him is to buy him for 6000 tokens, or get extremely lucky.

Galactus’ effect will destroy all locations, except the one you play him at, if he’s the only card played there. Decks built around him aim to get him out as early as possible, and then overpower your opponent on the only remaining location, which you should be better at than your opponent, since their deck is probably not geared around winning only one location, while your deck should be built to do exactly that.

The only problem with Galactus is that he’s too popular. A lot of people have been playing him lately, so players have become experienced at noticing a Galactus deck and reacting to him before he’s played to counter him. Playing Galactus nowadays requires a lot of patience and careful cube management if you want to use him to climb.

3.Galactus & Leader

This is a weird hybrid deck between DoomWave and the usual Galactus lineup. Both decks need to play Electro and Wave, to get their most important cards out earlier like Doctor Doom and Galactus, so this deck isn’t a completely random mashup.

This deck has a few win conditions. You can go the classic DoomWave route, and play Doctor Doom earlier with Wave’s effect, and then play Odin on top of him, to create a total of 4 DoomBots with 5 power each, this is pretty hard for a lot of opponent’s to overcome, especially if you’ve also got Sandman on the board, which limits the amount of cards they can play, so that they can’t contest all 3 locations, while your Doom and Odin combo can. Or, alternatively, you can play Galactus as soon as turn 4, if you have Wave, since you don’t have to worry about destroying a lot of cards to buff Knull, since this deck doesn’t run Knull, and then overpower your opponent on the remaining location, with Spider-Man who will prevent them from playing anything on that location, or play a combo of cards that can heavily impair your opponent like Sandman, Leech, and Leader, and all 3 of those combo great with each other.

What This Deck Excels At:

  • It’s a different take on Galactus decks, that will retreat less often, because if you notice that your opponent is playing around Galactus, and you can’t play him, if you have decent cards in your hand you can switch your game plan to playing DoomWave, and disregard Galactus for that matchup
  • Daredevil is a decent card in all matchups, since you rarely rely on your 2-cost card to bring you a lot of power, so him being only a 2 power isn’t a big downside, but knowing what your opponent is going to play on turn 5 can save you from wasting your Galactus
  • Electro and Wave are key cards that help you play out Doctor Doom and Galactus earlier, both of those cards need to be played earlier to get the most out of their effect
  • Playing Galactus on turn 4, and Spider-Man on turn 5 is an amazing combo that very few decks can beat, just beware of Jeff and Professor X on turn 5, since that can screw you over severely
  • Doctor Doom and Odin are a great combo in games that you want to play on all 3 locations instead of destroying them with Galactus, especially if paired with Sandman, since then there’s no chance that your opponent can overpower you when they can play only one card per turn

Card List:

  • Nebula
  • Daredevil
  • Electro
  • Wave
  • Spider-Man
  • Leech
  • Sandman
  • Galactus
  • Leader
  • Doctor Doom
  • Odin
  • Death

2.Nimrod Galactus

Nimrod hasn’t been the most well received Season Pass card and he’s been rather underwhelming compared to the likes of Hitmonkey, Silver Surfer, Zabu and even MODOK, which were all released around Nimrod’s time period. This Galactus deck is the best way to use Nimrod and make the most out of his duplicating effect to overpower your opponent.

Your main combo that gives you the most power in the late game is playing Shuri into Nimrod, to make each copy of Nimrod have 10 power, and then playing Galactus, who’s going to destroy Nimrod (hopefully twice if you’ve set him up correctly), and leave you with Galactus and 2 Nimrods that both have 10 power each. This is pretty hard for your opponent to overcome unless they have Shang-Chi. Alternate win condition for this deck is using Destroyer, to destroy your Nimrod (also hopefully multiple times) and then swarm the board with Nimrods which will have either 5 or 10 power, both scenarios give you a lot of value and a high possibility of winning the game.

What This Deck Excels At:

  • Nimrod makes it possible for you to play out the entire game until the 6th turn and play Galactus then. You will still get a significant amount of power on Galactus’ location, and your opponent might expect Galactus less, since this deck is less popular than the main Galactus deck that people use
  • Knull is a great addition here, since not only will Nimrod get destroyed multiple times and buff him up, Galactus will also destroy a lot of your opponent’s cards which will all count towards Knull’s total power
  • Hobgoblin is a great card to play on the location that you plan on playing Galactus, but just keep in mind that your opponent will almost surely know that you’re planning on playing Galactus and might have a counter ready
  • Doctor Octopus is a great option for removing some of the most important cards from your opponent’s hand and then destroying them with Galactus, if you’re lucky, you’ll also pull out cards that your opponent can use to counter you in the late game like Shang-Chi or Cosmo and avoid them

Card List:

  • Psylocke
  • Wolverine
  • Electro
  • Wave
  • Shuri
  • Shang-Chi
  • Hobgoblin
  • Nimrod
  • Doctor Octopus
  • Knull
  • Galactus
  • Destroyer

1.Galactus & Death

This Galactus deck is the most used and most predictable deck, but it’s also the most consistent. The goal is to play Galactus as early as possible, preferably also destroy a lot of strong cards to power up Knull, and then completely overpower your opponent on the last remaining location.

Cards that let you overpower your opponent are usually Knull, Death and Destroyer and also Shang-Chi can come in clutch if you don’t have reveal priority going into the last turn of the game and you expect your opponent to play something powerful. Knull is usually a really strong card and Galactus decks are especially good and making him big, since all cards that Galactus destroys get added to Knull’s power. If you’ve destroyed a lot of cards, Death is also going to be significantly cheaper, hopefully even free by turn 6, so that you can play her alongside Knull or Destroyer to make sure that your opponent can’t beat you. Just keep in mind that you really need to go into the last turn without priority so that your opponent can’t Shang-Chi your cards and steal a lot of cubes from you.

What This Deck Excels At:

  • It features a lot of strong cards that were also prominent in the previous 2 decks that we’ve showcased, but this deck is the most consistent version of Galactus that you can play
  • Knull is really hard to overpower in Galactus decks, and can often reach up to 50 power, sometimes even more. But that’s overkill and he’s really valuable as long as he’s giving you around 15 power, especially if you pair him up with Death
  • Destroyer is a great card that isn’t as risky in this deck as he is in a lot of other decks that run him, playing him on Galactus’ location gives you 15 power, while only destroying Galactus who has 2 power, which is usually insignificant
  • Daredevil gives you necessary information on turn 5, about what your opponent is going to play, and he gives you enough value to know whether you can play Galactus or not, and you can be sure that your opponent can’t easily counter you on turn 5
  • Electro and Wave, like in all Galactus decks are really important combo pieces that make it possible for you to play Galactus earlier and get the most out of his effect

Card List:

  • Yondu
  • Psylocke
  • Daredevil
  • Electro
  • Wave
  • Shang-Chi
  • Doctor Octopus
  • Knull
  • Galactus
  • America Chavez
  • Destroyer
  • Death
