Growtopia Best Ways to Spend Gems [Top 5 Ways]
Okay, so you’ve farmed, broken stuff, or harvested ATMs like I did. What’s with the look? Took out mom’s credit card to buy yourself gems? Fine, but it seems like you want to think of what to spend it on. I’d say pristine anomalizers, but we don’t often have guild events.
Listed below, I’ve expounded on the best ways you can spend your hard-earned gems on. Let’s base it on how much it’s worth, whether through World Locks or general value.
Quench your voracious appetite for profit with this article. As usual, spend for what you want. Don’t let my list depress you, gotcha?
5. A Backpack Upgrade for your lovelies!
Call this a pragmatic entry. When you begin, you’ll realize that it takes so much of your inventory to take the blocks, backgrounds, and clothes. We aren’t even including Locks, the community currency.
Each upgrade provides 10 extra backpack spaces, increasing in cost for each set you buy. I can’t judge whatever you’ll use it for, but this is definitely one of the best ways to spend it! Early game or end game, you’ll never run out of uses for your inventory space.
How It Works
- Click on your gems on the right-hand side of your screen. It should take you to the shop. (You may also open your main menu!)
- Locate the Player Items tab and find the Backpack Upgrade. Voilà!
4. SSP (Small Seed Pack; 100 Gems)
Hello, masochistic gamers. Wait, you’re only starting out? Salutations, then! Buy the Small Seed Pack for all things splicing and profiting. With 149 various seeds, you’re sure to experience something new for every purchase.
Remember that it takes a lot of elbow grease to manage dropping 149 items, so if that doesn’t sound like you, and that you’d rather buy in bulk, try the first entry instead. I recommend SSPs for gem spenders who buy in small increments.
How It Works
- Make sure you’ve got at least 149 inventory spaces. Also, prepare your World Lock and GrowScan 9000!
- Buy your Small Seed Packs from the Store under Activities. Each pack includes five random seeds. Afford the Collection if you may!
- Once you’re done, drop each seed type in one block at a time in a locked world you own. Usually, you want to box the seeds after, so SSP sellers know you won’t scam them.
- Place your GrowScan, and make your seeds visible to the public. Go to BUYSEEDS, BUYSSP, (or similar names,) and sell your world.
- When negotiating with a buyer, break your GrowScan before you two trade. You don’t want to lose more than what you sell.
3. RSP (Rare Seed Pack; 1,000 Gems)
Rare Seed Packs. Like SSPs, you’ll need at least 252 inventory spaces in exchange for more WLs. There’s more dropping action, so if you don’t think the Locks are worth getting arthritis for, then you best steer clear of this approach. Otherwise, both SSPs and RSPs are stable ways of earning external income. It’s a decent way of converting gems to WLs, as opposed to buying WLs straight from the store.
How It Works
- Make sure you’ve got at least 252 inventory spaces. Also prepare your World Lock and GrowScan 9000!
- Buy your Rare Seed Packs from the Store in Activities. Each pack includes five random seeds.

- Place your GrowScan, and make your seeds visible to the public. Go to BUYSEEDS or BUYRSP and sell your world.

2. Surgical Kit (12,000 Gems)
Got little time to spare for playing? Go with Surg Packs (slang for the Kit) and sell them. It’s convenient. I’ll lose, perhaps, 25 WLs, but that’s nothing compared to the convenience it offers. I harvest ATMs and Surg Packs consist of only 17-18 items. Time is money.
Likewise, it’s also stable because many Growtopians need it for Surgeon Day, Clash, the Dr. title, or Angel of Mercy’s Wings.
How It Works
- Buy the Surgical Kit under Activities from the Store.
- Make a World Locked world and drop each item separately. Include the Beds and Heart Monitors. Everything.
- Sell the world in BUYSURG or somewhere similar.
1. Buying and Selling Limited Items
Not all limited items are great. Take the Phoenix Wings, the star model of treasures alike. Enough said, trade makes the Growtopia worlds go ‘round. Learn about which items people will yearn for in the future. Buy them from the Store before they disappear! This is a volatile, high risk, and high reward entry.
How It Works
- Save up on Gems. Afterwards, wait until there’s an event you’d like to invest in.
- Afford lots of the new items. Hoard, almost. Try to buy practical items when you can. If you can’t, buy the pretty cool ones.
- Sell them quickly while they’re hot! Many YouTubers not under Growtopia’s special program do not have early access to your things. Make them and the Blue Gem Lock overlords your main demographic.
