[Top 10] Growtopia Best Farmables For Gems

Growtopia Best Farmables For Gems, top gem farmable growtopia 2022, best blocks for farming growtopia
It's incredibly hard not to photobomb in-game. Check out these Laser Grids! Ready to steal, Henry Stickmin?

Welcome back to another guide! Last time, I talked about the best farmables you could use for profit. So, this article intends to focus on gem count only. Growtopia (2013) is a popular sandbox MMO owned by Ubisoft Abu Dhabi. You can punch, build, and grow to the apex of your imagination.

What are the best farmables? Oh, when may I buy my favorite new item? I’ve done the research, combined with my expertise, just for you!

The combined criteria to follow:

  • What is the max amount of gems I can get?
  • How long will it take to break?
  • Is it worth harvesting?

Keep reading to learn more.

10. Marble Block

Marble Block cruises along the lines of “respectable” in gems, and “bottom of the bucket”. It’s used for various splicing recipes.

I recommend Marble Blocks if you’re starting out or in case you’re a bulk seller. Many mass producers seek to skip steps for the sake of their time. Take advantage of it!

Why Marble Block is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 12 gems per block.
  • Takes 7 hits to break; 6 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 1d 3h 25m 16s

What You Can Get

  • Breaks easily; less fatigue!
  • Sells easily, unlike Dark Walnut Ladders which are uncommon, (although are excellent. I’ll list it down when it gets easier to buy!)
  • World Locks! Gems!

9. Treasure Chest

Treasure Chests, along with Marble, are respectable, alternative choices. Like Marble, Chests are also used for various crafting recipes.

Although it gives more gems than Marble, I don’t recommend Treasure Chests if you could only buy a little. The seed drops are volatile, so personally, although this is great, I’d skip to Sugar Cane if you can afford it.

However, if you still think the market likes Treasure Chests, then go for it! Nothing’s stopping you from settling in a niche.

Why Treasure Chest is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 14 gems per block.
  • Takes 10 hits to break; 8 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 1d 22h 40m 25s

What You Can Get

  • Free storage blocks! Use your farmables… to store your farmables?
  • World Locks! Many gems!
  • Easy to sell

8. Sugar Cane

Sugar Cane is an ancient farmable. Modernized today as one of the most important materials for cooking, it’s also an amazing source of gems.

Don’t get bamboozled – Canes break extremely fast. So, although it drops gems only up to 5, you’re getting your time’s worth by breezing through them.

This is usually what I recommend for starters. Like feeling your progress? You can do Chests or Marble, but if you’re mindlessly tapping on your screen – Canes are better.

Why Sugar Cane is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 5 gems per block.
  • Takes 2 hits to break; 2 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 4h 2m 24s

What You Can Get

  • Lots, and lots of sucrose every 4 hours.
  • Gemmies! And, more for your friends!
  • Sugar; Apple Pies; Butterfly Leash (randomly dropped from breaking Sugar Cane)

7. Fish Tank

Not longer after Canes, Fish Tank became popular among Growtopians. Still, they drop a similar amount of gems averaged by time spent planting and breaking. Unlike Canes, they do not provide many splicing recipes.

I recommend Fish Tanks if you prefer harvesting only once a day. Many people steer away from Science Stations, because it pays off better if you can harvest twice. So, even if Sugar Cane pays better, Fish Tanks give you more gems in bulk.

Why Fish Tank is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 11 gems per block.
  • Takes 3 hits to break; 3 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 20h 55m 48s

What You Can Get

  • Gem bonanza! World Locks!
  • Somewhere to store your live sushi in.
  • Save more time, only harvesting every 20 hours.

6. Pepper Tree

Pepper Tree came out as one of the few additions from the Roots update. Discovered as an efficient farmable, players began farming it only to discover that they multiply like mosquitoes!

I recommend Pepper Trees if you’re done with Sugar Canes. Consider it as another contender to Fish Tanks. They’re cheap and reproduce well.

Why Pepper Tree is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 12 gems per block.
  • Takes 4 hits to break; 3 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 1d 5h 13m 53s

What You Can Get

  • A fast-growing farm
  • Gem cannon! World Locks!
  • Decorations

5. Sorcerer Stone

Whether Sorcerer Stone or Chandelier, these are respectable, mid-tier farmables for gems. They’re everywhere. Sorcerer Stone came out after Chandeliers, which is why it currently sells for more.

I recommend Sorcerer Stone if you could find someone who sells it.

Why Sorcerer Stone is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 22 gems per block.
  • Takes 8 hits to break; 6 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 1w 0d 15h 38m 33s

What You Can Get

  • More expensive than Chandelier, and is a solid block
  • Moar gems, more World Locks!
  • Crystallized Wealth

4. Chandelier

Chandeliers are your friend! I bet you could also ask for it nicely. They’re equal to Sorcerer Stone. Except, it’s more common, (because it came out first,) so I listed it higher for the sake of convenience.

I recommend Chandelier for general advice. There’s nothing that could go wrong with ol’ reliable. By the way, since I linked a pro video on number 4, I’m sure Chandeliers work the same with Ancestral and Buddy Block too.

Why Chandelier is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 22 gems per block.
  • Takes 7 hits to break; 6 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 1w 0d 15h 38m 33s

What You Can Get

3. Clouds Background

Clouds Background is an expensive, slow-growing farmable. It isn’t very useful, takes two weeks to grow, but provides up to 30 gems when broken.

I recommend Clouds Background if you want to catch up on the market with these things. You know what they say: the early bird gets the worm.

Why Clouds Background is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 30 gems per block.
  • Takes 10 hits to break; 8 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 2w 5d 13h 5m 29s

What You Can Get

  • LOTS of gems, and lots of World Locks for catching on early.
  • Clouds Wallpaper

2. Magic Bell

Magic Bell and Laser Grid are top-tier contenders for the best farmables for gems. Both released not far apart, they’re still popular today.

Choose Magic Bell if you have less time to play. That way, you can plant, harvest, and break only once a week. I also recommend the Magic Bell if you have the budget.

Why Magic Bell is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 24 gems per block.
  • Takes 10 hits to break; 8 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 1w 2d 22h 57m 5s

What You Can Get

  • The most gems after every harvest, with consideration to your time
  • Easily sold

1. Laser Grid

Laser Grid is the best farmable for the gems-to-punching ratio. It’s also dangerous, so there’s that. There’s little to be said, other than it being the mainstream choice for endgame farmers.

I recommend Laser Grid if you play actively. It grows quickly compared to numbers 5 to 2, so keep that in mind.

Why Laser Grid is Great for Gems

  • Drops up to 18 gems per block.
  • Takes 5 hits to break; 4 with the Enhanced Digging mod
  • Grows in 3d 15h 54m 32s

What You Can Get

  • The best amount of gems, while saving a lot of time
  • Harvests biweekly
  • World Locks! Highly sought after
