[Top 10] D&D Best Sorcerer Armor And Weapons
After playing a Rogue assassin for over a year, she was captured. So, I rolled up a new character, Thia. This character is a female half-elf Sorcerer with a Shadow Magic subclass. So, I will be able to apply the knowledge acquired from research to provide you (and perhaps hit up my Dungeon Master (DM)) with the best armor and weapons for your Sorcerer’s next campaign!
10. Cloak of Displacement
If you do not displace the cloak (could not resist) this garment acts as armor for your favorite sorcerer or other magic-using types. I mentioned this in other articles, but the Cloak of Displacement is really one of the best items for a spellcaster to own because they cannot wear traditional armor to boost armor class. The cloak only weighs a pound and is adorned with embroidered moons and stars. Read on to learn about the benefits of wearing the Cloak of Displacement!
Why Cloak of Displacement is great
- When a Player Character (PC) drapes the cloak over their shoulders, they appear to be at a certain location, when they are a few feet away. The displacement makes it more difficult for enemies to strike the sorcerer.
- In addition, enemies will attack the sorcerer at a disadvantage. Because the sorcerer’s armor class is not great, this will help avoid hits and damage.
How to get Cloak of Displacement:
- The Cloak of Displacement is a rare item, so it will most likely be found in a private collection.
- Collectors will pay 50,000 gp to acquire this item.
Cloak of Displacement details:
- If damage is taken, the cloak will not work until the next turn.
- The cloak will not work if the sorcerer is somehow unable to move.
- This garment requires an attunement before wearing.
9. Cloak of Invisibility
I would love to have a Cloak of Invisibility for my character, Thia, and for me in the real world! How fun would it be to channel Harry Potter, don Dad’s cloak, and roam around Hogwarts for hours on end in the middle of the night? Well, the Invisibility Cloak in D&D 5e only lasts for a couple hours, but it is still great for sorcerers to have to make a quick getaway or to cast a spell on an enemy. Read on to find out more!

6. Illusionist’s Bracers
According to research, the Illusionist’s Bracers were developed by a (surprise!) illusionist from House Dimir. The bracers empowered her to cast several illusions at one time, but they can do so much more! The Illusionist’s Bracers would be considered more as a weapon than armor for magic users. Read on to find out more about this item and why it is among the best for Sorcerers!
Why Illusionist’s Bracers are great
- The Illusionist’s Bracers are slick, because when they are worn, the owner can use a bonus action to cast a cantrip twice in a round!

Why Master Ioun Stone is great
- The stone requires an action; the user tosses the stone into the air (1d3 feet) and the stone grants a benefit. The benefits, depending on the stone, range from Agility to Self-Preservation.
- As the stone circles around the user’s head, the PC's proficiency bonus increases by 1.
- For an opponent to steal the magical stone, they must use up an action and roll an attack roll against AC 24 or succeed on a Dexterity Check (DC) 24 Acrobatics check. In other words, the Master Ioun Stone is not easy to remove!
- The stones are lightweight and do not interfere with armor or spellcasting.
How to get Master Ioun Stone:

3. Robe of the Archmagi
This is an interesting garment because not everyone can wear it. Each beautiful robe has a certain alignment: white (good), gray (neutral), and black (evil).
