The realistic shooting mechanics, bullet drop and bullet velocity, in Battlefield 4 has made using sniper rifles a bit of a challenge. But a good Recon player can help turn a battle into their team’s favor almost single handedly. Support your team from afar by picking off enemies or be an aggressive sniper and fight in the midst of the chaos. So, you’ll need a good sniper rifle with you and we’ve found three of the best snipers you could use.
3. M40A5 (best for medium to long range)
The M40A5 is a bolt-action sniper that can only be used the Recon class. The perks of this weapon are:
- 10 round magazine
- Suitable for an aggressive sniping playstyle
- Slightly longer range capabilities than rest of weapon class
- One of the first sniper rifles to unlock
To unlock this weapon, you must:
Play as the Recon class using any sniper
Reach a Sniper Rifle Score of 3,000
Damage: 59-100
Accuracy: 100
Mobility: 20
Range: 100m
Rate of fire: 60 RPM

2. GOL Magnum (best for medium to long range)
The GOL Magnum is a bolt-action sniper rifle for the Recon class. The perks of this weapon are:
- Great accuracy
- Better mobility compared to other sniper rifles
- Slightly better range
To unlock this sniper rifle, you must complete the Eagle’s Nest assignment by getting 5 kills in the tallest building of Firestorm or Caspian Border.
Damage: 59-100
Accuracy: 100
Mobility: 28
Range: 70m
Rate of fire: 51 RPM

1. SPR-61(best for long range sniping)
The SPR-61 is a bolt action sniper rifle that can only be used by the Recon class. The pros of this weapon are:
- Has the longest range capability of it’s weapon class
- High damage
- Very accurate
To unlock this weapon, you must:
Play as the Recon class with any sniper rifle
Reach a Sniper Rifle Score of 42,000
Damage: 59-100
Accuracy: 100
Mobility: 20
Range: 150m
Rate of fire: 40 RPM
